"Ohhhhhh." Chan cooed as Eden and Elliott both whined to him about how unfair their mom was being.

"Daaad! We didn't even even do anything. And Mama just got so mad, and now she's acting mean!" Eden whined.

"Uh huh~" Chan nodded.

"An daddy, we listened weally good an acted like we were sposed to!" Elliott cried, putting his little hands together as he begged.

Chan sighed. "No. Let me guess what you both did. You both acted up until Mama got fed up and scolded you, and both had a breakdown because when Mama scolds you, it's personal. And now you want me to feel sorry for you?"

Elliott nodded and started to cry.

Chan went and picked him up. "You both know better than to act up at the store." He said.

Elliott wrapped his arms around Chan's neck and cried sadly.

"Aigoo, did Mama break your heart?" Chan asked, patting his back.

Elliott nodded sadly.

"Dad, it really wasn't fair! She didn't let us explain or anything." Eden scoffed.

"What were you doing? Running around? Asking for toys?" Chan asked, sitting on the chair so Eden could sit on his lap.

"Well, we did run around, but we stopped after she said to-" Eden whined as she sat on Chan's lap.

Chan cleared his throat. "Mama knows you so well that she can basically read your thoughts, you know? She always knows your next move. That's what happens when you carry a baby inside you for 9 months. You guys are connected to Mama even still. And when you don't listen, normally what does mama do?"

Eden looked down sadly. "Gets mad?"

"No. Not usually. Because usually you guys cry to her, and she's compassionate because you're her babies and she understands you, and so she gives you leeway. She gives you room to argue and be upset. Right?" Chan asked.

"I guess..." Eden sighed.

"What would I normally do if you didn't listen?" Chan asked.

"Make us go to the corner. Or scold us before bed." Eden said.

"And do I ever give you room to argue?"

"No."

"No. Because when I discipline you, there's not the same emotion involved, and you forgive me pretty quickly."

Eden pouted.

"When Mama scolds you, it's personal. She feels upset that you did something wrong, and she disciplines you accordingly. And that's why your feelings get hurt." Chan explained.
