Jisungs phone buzzed in his pocket. He was just leaving the elementary school after finishing with the kids guitar lessons.
He pulled out his phone to check the message.
It was from Lani.
[Hey! Are you busy? I have something really cool to show you.] - Lani
[Umm. Kinda. I'm just leaving work.] - Jisung
[Great. Come to the Starbucks on the corner of Main and Juniper!] - Lani
"What the hell?" Jisung whispered to himself.
He sighed and slung his guitar case over his shoulder. He always walked to work, so he didn't bring a car.
Of course, he could just not show up. He never agreed to show up.
But was he going to do that? No. It felt rude.
He looked up where Juniper Street was and started walking... For 30 minutes.
He honestly didn't understand why he was going there in the first place.
He hadn't seen this girl since the first time he met her.
He had chickened out when he was going to go to that music festival thing.
Why was he going to meet this girl that he didn't even know, and with the mere prospect of being shown something "really cool"???
He walked into the cafe, feeling chilled from the cold, damp air. It was already starting to get dark out, and he could feel winter in the air.
Then he spotted her.
She stood up and waved to him excitedly.
He looked around, embarrassed.
She sat back down and patted the seat beside her.
He reluctantly walked over, propping his guitar up against the table before sitting down.
"Okay. Just a second." She said, finding something on her laptop.
She hadn't even said "hi." And Jisung hadn't spoken a word.
Jisung glanced at her computer screen nervously. Lani was hyper focused on finding whatever she was looking for.
