A/N This chapter is both very sappy, and just a lot of information. I went nerd brain.
July 2033
"Okay." Chan said, eagerly looking at the 3 faces on the screen in front of him.
The three faces looked back, much less eager.
"What is this? I don't have very long, hyung." Minho said impatiently.
"This is; being a girl-dad 101." Chan said.
Minho groaned. "When did you prepare your material? Or have you been preparing it for us since Eden was born?"
"I prepared it last week." Chan said.
Hyunjin got up and went to get his kid. He sat back down in front of his computer and pulled a crying Juno onto his lap. Thankfully he was muted.
Jisung sat patiently in front of his screen, drinking his coffee.
"What's wrong, Juno?" Chan asked.
Juno leaned into Hyunjin's chest and wiped his tears.
Hyunjin unmuted them and sighed. "He's sad because his mom swatted him for drawing on his brother's face."
"Awe... What a meanie she is." Jisung gasped comically.
Juno nodded his head.
Minho got up as Minyeo cried. He went to change her diaper and sat back down. "Okay. If you have something to say, you should say it now, hyung."
"Alright." Chan started, putting his hands together. "Minho, Hyunjin, you can forget everything you thought you knew about raising kids. Girls are another level."
Hyunjin groaned with disappointment. "It can't be that different. Right?"
Chan cleared his throat. "The stakes are definitely higher. In fact, there's a bunch of studies and articles on this topic, and I'll send them to you all after."
"Is there going to be a test?" Minho asked sarcastically.
"I thought about it, but no." Chan said.
"I mean, I've heard the stuff about how girl's father's shape their idea of how men should treat them, but what else is there?" Hyunjin asked.
Minho looked down at Minyeo and felt his heart warm. He bounced her gently as she stared up at him.
"There's that, but so much more." Chan said. "Here's what's interesting;" He said, bringing up an article on the screen and reading it. "Girls who have a present and caring father are less likely to look to dangerous sources to have their emotional needs met. They are 7 times less likely to have teen pregnancies, and even LESS likely to engage in risky sexual behaviours if their father discourages it compared to if their mother discourages it." Chan read.
Jisung hummed and nodded his head, suddenly feeling the pressure. There was only one more month until he was officially a girl-dad.
Chan continued: "A good relationship with their father gives girls a more stable sense of self. This leads to:
Higher academic success
Higher self esteem
Healthier, stable relationships
And....
Lower rates of depression
Lower rates of eating disorders
Lower rates of anxiety.""Wah." Hyunjin said in shock.
"Daddy, what's eating disorder?" Juno asked.
"It's something you don't need to worry about right now." Hyunjin said.
