Juno sat in his bed, waiting for his dad to come tuck him in.
He walked to his shelf and took out his journal. Then he ran to the little desk and grabbed a pen and flashlight.
He jumped under the covers, laying on his belly, with the blanket covering him.
He clicked on the flashlight and held it in his teeth.

~Journal entry #2 for July~"Tried to turn Teddie into a one eyed pirate.
Not successful.Mom got mad.
I tried to explain that it was a good idea.
Mom spanked me.I told on her to daddy.
Dad gave no sympathy. My parents have no sense of humour.
Probably not gonna get my "dollar" for good behaviour this week either.
My toys are going to rot in prison.
My parents are talking about how to handle me, because dad doesn't like when I argue with mom...
Daddy told uncle that I've been bad. That's so embarrassing.
Uncle Chan didn't help much. Told daddy not to let me be rude to mommy. But he at least told daddy to let me play after school.
Daddy's probably going to give me a talking to before bed tonight. I know it.
He'll also tell me what period is. I think it's something you do at school. I don't know why it's hard. But maybe girls have different brains that make periods hard.
I don't really understand when my uncles and daddy talks sometimes. Daddy always tells me to sit and listen so I learn things, but they're so confusing.
I guess daddy doesn't know about girls. But I do, because there's lots of girls at my school. So when baby sister comes, I'll teach dad what to do. Hehehehe
I was upset when mom told me about another baby coming, but she said it's a baby girl this time, and we don't really have one of those yet. So I decided to let baby sister live here with my parents.
Uncle said that girls want their dad's approval more and feel more sad when their Daddy's get mad at them. So I'll tell dad not to be mean to my sister. And also, I'll cuddle with baby sister lots too so she knows she's important and doesn't let boys at school bully her.
I think that's what uncle meant anyway. I'm not sure.
Dad also said that Teddie can sleep in my bed once he's two.
I don't mind... Teddie is sleeping in his crib beside my bed right now. He's snoring quietly. Teddie is cute, but he's not very smart.
Mom said we need separate beds. But daddy said no, because in Korea, kids sleep together.
Dad said it was good for him to sleep with his brothers.
Mom said it's bad for development to not have your own space.
Dad said I don't need my own space yet, and that he's not worrying about getting Teddie a bed yet.
Mom said it's a basic necessity for kids to have their own bed.
Dad said that's very "western" of her to think.
They had an argument about it, and then they apologized to each other.
They put a tiny "bassinet" in their room for baby sister.
Then dad said once Teddie is 2, he'll sleep in my bed, and they'll put his crib into their room for baby sister to sleep.
