Sometimes I act like I know,
but I'm really just a kid.

Later that evening, on a quiet street lined with wooden houses, light rain fell, trickling from the rooftops. Birds gathered on your balcony, taking turns in the tiny dish of birdseed you'd left out.
You sat back in a rocking chair, enjoying the view with a book in your hands. With a thin blanket across your legs to stay warm, your hair was finally loose, its strands falling in a mix of tidy layers and casual waves. Freed from its usual bun, you looked more relaxed, a quiet contentment in your eyes.
On this cool summer day, your mood was at an all-time high. In moments like these, you appreciated that you lived on a quiet, rural street in Miyagi Prefecture instead of noisy Tokyo.
Some things from your previous life never changed; compared to the bustling energy of "youth," you still preferred the quiet backdrop, away from attention and interruptions. Peaceful, with no one watching—nothing could be better.
Then, "Ding-dong."
Your half-closed eyes immediately turned flat and unamused, and as if timed perfectly, the gentle background music you'd been listening to faded out. With a sigh, you reached out from under the blanket, picked up your phone, and glanced at the message.
It was from Hibari.
Hibari: Dynamite, did you make it back to Miyagi safely?
You quickly typed back a reply.
You: Yes.
Hibari: Good to hear! I've never been to Miyagi myself, but it must be peaceful there compared to bustling Tokyo—just like a place you'd see in a drama, I imagine.
He wasn't entirely wrong, but he was overdoing it a bit. You sighed and typed back.
You: It is quieter, but it's not that dramatic.
Hibari: Got it. So...Spring Nationals are soon, right?
Before you could reply, another message popped up right after.
Hibari: So, I guess we'll be seeing each other again in Tokyo soon? 👀
One of your eyebrows lifted slightly, and before you knew it, a hint of a smile had crept onto your face as you responded.
You: Well, that's impossible to say, isn't it?
But Hibari's reply was almost instant.
Hibari: I know it for a fact! I'm sure Shiratorizawa will win its spot in the Nationals!
On his end, Hibari hesitated for a moment, almost typing your name but changing it to "Shiratorizawa" just in time. With a small sigh of relief, he watched the chat box.
You: I'll take your word for it.
Smiling, he clicked on the familiar team names of Aoba Johsai and Karasuno, curious to learn more about the teams he knew you'd be facing in the qualifiers. His mouse paused over Karasuno, remembering their presence at the Tokyo training camp.
'Could they be an obstacle for Dynamite in reaching Nationals?'
As he read, he adjusted his thick glasses, still in his usual, modest "academic" attire that hid an air of quiet intelligence. His eyes were naturally soft and downturned, giving him a look of calm kindness. His expression focused, he started digging through match footage he'd never even been interested in before.
