It's easier to fool people,
than to convince them that they have been fooled.

'...It started,' Shirabu thought to himself.
'This guy always likes to target the opponent's libero. As expected, he has to break down the opponent's defense first before implementing his plan.'
'This devil.'
Shirabu couldn't help but close his eyes. Compared to this, the original Shiratorizawa was really too kind. When you arrived, it instantly became a double threat to both mind and body.
However, the reason you said that was completely different from what others might think.
On one hand, the opponent staring at the volleyball really frightened you. If you didn't know the ball you served, you might have thought the volleyball was tampered with, causing the opponent to misjudge and think it was going out of bounds.
On the other hand... you originally intended to send an easy ball to the opponent's libero, allowing him to catch it effortlessly, so everyone could see that you are actually very weak.
But you failed.
The opposing captain gritted his teeth and turned back to comfort his libero. However, when he turned, he saw the libero looking shaken.
"Don't let him get to you! He's messing with your head!" the captain shouted, looking worriedly at the libero.
"I, I know..." The libero forced a smile, but it looked more like he was about to cry, which only made the team's mood more serious.
The second whistle blew, and it was still your turn to serve. You took a deep breath.
You couldn't risk serving too well again, or your weakness wouldn't be obvious, and you might end up lucky again.
Taking a deep breath, a lightbulb moment hit you.
Finally making a decision, you looked at the ball with a blank expression. In silence, you threw the ball high, and the reflection of the volleyball flashed in your eyes—
"Bang--!"
The ball fell to the ground but no one on the opposing team moved.
They all stared in shock at the volleyball bouncing high. The ball seemed almost alive, jumping high as if one bounce wasn't enough.
Everyone saw your movements clearly, but no one could match your speed.
The movement was simple and clear, but the difference in strength was too great.
There was a huge gap.
They looked at you, completely in the moment, having just served a ball like they'd never seen before.
It all happened in an instant. Your perfect movements left no time for anyone to react. By the time they realized what was happening, the ball had already landed.
There were no unnecessary moves in your actions. It was just a simple jump and spike. It was as if you used a basic formula to solve a world-class problem in seconds.
It was efficient and clean, yet also overpowering and unfair.
It felt like an adult playing against a child. That even the simplest moves were unstoppable.
The decision you just made wasn't to come up with a serve that would make the opponent look foolish.
The decision you made was to hit him in the face.
