Just like always, you bow to the other team and start to leave. As expected, Hoshiumi comes over, throwing out a few threatening lines, only to get dragged away by Hakuba.
You actually watch in disbelief as he struggles free, and just when you're about to make a run for it—because honestly, you do not have the energy for this—Hoshiumi marches right up to you.
And then, with the angriest look possible—
—He pulls out his phone.
Forced to swap numbers with him, you just stand there, kind of lost, watching this guy—who you're pretty sure you've just saved in your contacts as "Birdie"—ranting to himself while storming off towards the exit. You tilt your head a bit, totally confused.
...Well, whatever. At least he didn't throw hands.
You let out a yawn. Sure, today's game ended a bit quicker than usual, but honestly, it didn't feel any easier. If anything, you're even more exhausted, probably because you spent most of the second set trying to focus on two things at once.
But just as you sling your bag over your shoulder, ready to leave the gym, you catch bits of a conversation from a couple of passersby—
"Hey! Did you hear? I heard the game at Itachiyama today was amazing too!"
"For real? I think their opponent was... uh, who was it again?"
"It was a new team called Ubugawa! I swear, there are so many dark horses this year... blah blah blah..."
You don't catch the rest because the moment they say that name—both weirdly familiar and unfamiliar—your feet come to a sudden stop.
...Huh? Ubugawa? In the top eight?!
Behind you, Shirabu nearly crashes into your back when you stop out of nowhere. He glances at you, confused. "What's up?"
Everyone else is staring at you too, puzzled. But you're just looking off into the distance, way more serious than you ever were during the match. Finally, you say, "You guys go ahead. I've got something to do."
Without another word, you turn and start walking off on your own, leaving them all blinking at your back.
Tendou raises an eyebrow, glances at the still-confused team, and just chuckles to himself before dragging them out of the gym with a grin.

Up ahead, the two people who were rushing from the Shiratorizawa vs. Kamomedai match are now sprinting towards the Itachiyama court, way too focused to notice the shadow trailing behind them.
The same shadow that had them screaming in excitement just a little while ago.
You slip into the Itachiyama court behind them, and immediately, a wave of cheers nearly deafens you. Your ears ring from the noise, and you suddenly understand how the Miya twins and Nekoma's cats must've felt earlier.
You steady yourself and sneak over to a spot in the back row. You don't even know why you're being so sneaky about it, honestly. But it seems like the game's been so intense that people from other courts are here too—some of them even players who already finished their own matches.
Wow, some teams actually have the energy to watch other people's games after finishing their own?
You're still kind of amazed when the crowd's sudden gasps drag your attention back to the court. Your eyes instinctively move to the scoreboard above—
