But I'm losing myself,
and i'm afraid you're gonna lose me too.

Now it's Karasuno's serve. Kageyama's jump serve packs a punch, but against someone like Oikawa, it lacks a bit of finesse. The crowd lets out a gasp as Oikawa receives the ball smoothly, a rare move for a setter. You raise an eyebrow, sensing something's different.
The ball is passed back and forth, and at the perfect moment, Kageyama sets up Asahi, who leaps high into the air. His eyes sweep over Aoba Johsai's court, quickly locking onto an open spot in their defense. Without hesitation, he spikes—
THUD!
The ball slams hard, echoing through the gym. But just as everyone thinks it's a point for Karasuno, a figure from Aoba Johsai moves quickly into position, as if they'd been waiting there the whole time. Standing firm, they meet the ball with ease.
THUD!
With smooth coordination, Iwaizumi spikes the ball right back.
Asahi stares in shock at Kunimi, who intercepts his spike effortlessly, a bit dazed.
'But... wasn't that spot open just a second ago?'
You raise an eyebrow, surprised by Kunimi's move, and even Ushijima can't hide his curiosity, looking over as well.
On the sidelines, Hinata's shout rings out above the noise of the court:
"Hey!! That's just like Mr. Dynamite's move—stealing the position!"
"It's called position blocking, dummy," Kageyama mutters as he passes by, a slight edge in his voice. Hinata's face goes red, embarrassed at being corrected, and he looks ready to start a fight—until Daichi quickly steps in to stop him.
On the sidelines, Sugawara watches, surprised but also frowning a bit. "It looks similar, but... something's different about it."
Coach Ukai strokes his chin, speaking quietly. "Exactly. The key to his method is that he blocks off every escape before the spiker even takes their shot. Either you're blocked, or I'm there to pick it up. There's no real room to score."
"And it messes with the spiker's mindset, too," Sugawara agrees. "But with Kunimi's version, instead of anticipating like him, he buys himself more time to react—even if it's not as intense as Dynamite's, he's still disrupting the attack."
After all, not everyone has the experience to read the blocking gaps on their side as quickly as Dynamite does. He can see where the hole will be and get there in time to cover it. Kunimi's adaptation doesn't quite unnerve the spiker, but it's simpler and works as bait.
Since Kunimi arrives at the same time as the ball, the opposing spiker has little warning. Meanwhile, Dynamite, who positions himself early, often forces the spiker to abandon that direction and go for a straight attack against the block.
So, while the idea is similar, the results and effectiveness differ. Aoba Johsai has made adjustments, adapting the approach to suit their own needs. And, well, this quick-thinking strategy shift has Oikawa written all over it.
Sugawara gives a dry chuckle. Only Oikawa could pull this off—improving on someone else's move in the middle of a game, without hesitation, to get the maximum benefit in the shortest time possible. It's impressive.
As Kunimi's tactic pays off, he takes a deep breath, hearing his teammates cheer around him. But his gaze wanders to the stands, catching a glimpse of you.
