I walk around the hallway. I hear Aubrey and Mason talking. I sneak up to a corner to listen in.
"Aubrey, I'm sorry. You talk too much, okay?" Mason says.
"You said you were okay with how much I talk." Aubrey says through tears.
"Sorry, Aubrey. I'm leaving you." I hear Mason walking away. There's a door right there. He's probably leaving the whole building.
Once I'm sure he's gone I round the corner and sit by Aubrey. I don't exactly know how to comfort anyone, so I'll just sit here.
"Go away." Aubrey says.
"No. Aubrey. You're my little sister now, I will try my best to comfort you." I say. "What happened."
"Mason broke up with me."
"Aubrey, I didn't like that guy anyways. You're too young to be dating." I say. "But, I hate seeing you hurt."
I lean in and give her a hug.
"Thank you." She whispers.
