Taylor
Mom, Lilly, and I walk into the pediatricians office. Mom signs some things for Lilly, then we wait in the waiting room. When Lilly is called to see the doctor we all go in there.
Doctor Elijah asks Mom and Lilly some questions, then asks to talk to Mom alone. I can tell Lilly is really scared for what to happen.
"Lilly," I say. She lifts her head to look at me. "Knock, knock."
She smiles. "Who's there?" She says.
"Boo."
"Boo who?"
"Lilly, don't be sad, it's only a joke."
She starts laughing. "My chest hurts when I laugh."
"Sorry." I say.
Mom comes back in. Tears are in her eyes. She puts on a smile when she sees Lilly.
"Um. Let's go home."
When we get home Lilly goes into her room.
"Mom, what did the doctor say?" I say.
"L-lilly h-has," She stutters.
"Lilly has what? C'mon, Mom, it can't be that bad."
"l-lung c-cancer."
My sweet little sister, Lilly has lung cancer?
My peripheral vision goes black. Black spots dance around everywhere else. I can't breathe. Someone please wake me, because this is obviously a nightmare.
