"Bro," Aaron says staring at me. "You don't look very good."

I've been laying in bed for quite some time now. I've been up all night crying over Taylor. Fantasizing what it'd be like if i saw her again.

Mom got worried about me and called Aaron and Jake over.

"I'm fine, really." I say.

"Bro, you're anything but fine." Aaron says.

"If it's about that girl Taylor then just let it go, because you'll never see her again." Jake says.

I bite my lip from thinking about her.

"Dude, you've got bigger problems." Aaron says. I raise my eyebrows. "While you were sleeping we heard your mom talking on the phone. I think she's talking to a guy."

I sit up.

"What do you mean?" I say.

"Bro, I think she's dating someone and not telling you." Aaron says.

"You've been sleeping too long. I have to go." Jake says.

I nod my head.

"Yeah, bro, I have to go too." Aaron says.

They both leave the room without another word. Now it's just me and my thoughts. Mom's dating someone?

I get up and walk towards the stairs. I hear her talking on the phone. I slowly creepy down the steps to hear better.

"Oh stop it." She says. There's a pause. "I have to go. My son will be up in a minute." I can't see her, but I can tell she's smiling. "Love you too, bye."

I walk into the room.

"Love you too?" I say.

She notices me, but she stays silent.

"Who are you talking to?" I say.

"Chris." She says.

"Who's Chris? Where did you meet him?"

"Chris is my boyfriend, I met him online."

"Mom! He could be a serial killer for all we know! You can't just date on the internet!"

"I've met him in person, Cameron! I would really like you to meet him as long as you don't call him a serial killer!"

"I would love to meet him!"

"Stop yelling at me, and go to your room!"

"I would love to go to my room!" I stomp up the stairs, and slam my door shut.

"Don't slam doors!"

I plop on the bed, and stress-fully begin to read The Maze Runner.

I open my eyes. My head is on my book. Mom knocks on my door.

"Huh? Oh. Come in."

Mom walks in.

"Cam, get ready, you're meeting Chris and I'm meeting his daughter Aubrey."

I stare at her for half a second before getting up.

I get dressed in dark jeans, and a plaid shirt. Then wait in my room. When the doorbell rings Mom answers the door. I hear talking downstairs. But I have too bad of a headache to concentrate on what they're saying.

Then Mom yells for me to come downstairs. I walk down and greet Chris. He's a tall man probably 6'5" I stare at him and his height for a while.

"Chris, this is Cameron, Cameron, this is Chris." Mom says.
