Taylor
I drop my phone on the ground not even bothering to press the end call button, and I sink to my knees. Tears are coming. Faster then ever. Faster then when I found out Lilly has cancer. Cameron's in a coma. That's where he's been. In a coma for the past 2 weeks. I want to visit him. But Mom and Dad will find out about him. I want to make sure he's doing okay. I want to do all this. But, Mom and Dad will never let me see a 16 year old guy who I met at camp.
"Guys, I'm home!" Someone calls out from the living room. I recognize that voice anywhere. Katie. Katie my sister in college.
I wipe tears from my eyes, and wipe off tear streaks on my cheeks. I look in the mirror and put concealer on to hide any redness of my eyes. I practice my best smile a few times, then go out into the living room to see Katie.
She has her red hair pulled back in a ponytail.
"Katie," I say.
"Taylor," She says.
She comes towards me and gives me a hug.
"Oh, Taylor I've missed you." She says.
"I've missed you too." I stare at her for a second. "Why are you here?"
"What? Your big sister couldn't just come home to say hello to people?" She raises her eyebrows.
"Well, usually you come home because it's a holiday or something."
"I just wanted to check up on you guys. Poor Lilly has cancer. I just want to help out a little bit while she's finishing her last chemo treatment."
"Okay, that's a good enough answer."
She puts her arm around me, and we walk to my bedroom.
"Now, Taylor, what's going on in your life?" She says.
My unofficial boyfriend who's not really my boyfriend is in a coma at the hospital and I'm not allowed to visit him or else I'll get in trouble.
"Nothing much." I say.
"Mkay. Well. Have you met any cute boys lately?"
"Dad would kill me if I did."
"Yep. You got that right. No seriously, if you did you can tell me, I won't tell Mom or Dad. I promise."
"Okay. Okay. I met this cute guy at camp this summer. We texted for a while, then Mom and Dad found out I was texting at night, probably by Alexis, and they said that if I keep texting at night then they'll take my phone away. And I'm not allowed to see him because of Mom and Dad. And I found out he's in a coma."
"Oh my gosh. Taylor. I'm so so so sorry."
"And, I can't visit him because Mom and Dad will find out, and they will make sure I never see him. Or talk to him. And yeah."
"You know, I can take you to the hospital, just to see him. It will have to be after Lilly's chemo treatment. But, I can still take you."
"Really? Oh that is why they make sisters, don't they?"
"Something like that, yeah."
Lilly's final chemo treatment is in one week.
