Taylor
I put my back-pack on my shoulders, and start biking home. There's an ambulance driving by. I know it's not, but I keep thinking it's Lilly. I bike faster. I need to make sure Lilly's alright.
I speed by an intersection. A car that looks like Cameron's is totaled. It's not his. I'm sure of it.
I come barreling into the house.
"Lilly?" I yell through the house.
Mom comes out of the kitchen with a confused look.
"Where's Lilly?" I say.
"I'm right here." Lilly comes walking out of the kitchen with a huge smile plastered on her face.
"Oh, thank goodness. Lilly, you scared me half to death."
"Why did she scare you?" Mom says.
"I saw an ambulance, I got worried. I was afraid it was Lilly." I say.
Mom nods slowly, unsure of what I just said.
I wake up in the morning with Mom knocking on my door. "Taylor, there's someone here to see you." She says.
I roll myself out of bed, and stumble out of my room until I reach the front door. I rub the sleep out of my eyes, and blink a few times. Aubrey comes into view.
She has her hands on her hips, she's leaning on one leg, and tapping her foot against the ground.
"Where's Cam," She says.
I stare at her. "How am I supposed to know, I'm not allowed to see him anymore."
"He visited you yesterday, and he didn't come back home. He's obviously in your room or house or something."
"Cameron never came over here. He came to the library to visit me, but then he left."
Aubrey sighs. "Well, he never came back home."
Tears start to form in her eyes.
"Aubrey, I'm sure he's just at Aaron's or Jake's house." I say.
She nods. "Okay, okay, yeah. That's where he is. Yeah."
Then she leaves.
"Who was that?" Mom says.
"Aubrey. I spent the night at her house a few months ago."
"Okay."
I sit in my room and stare at the wall. Where did Cameron go? Why didn't he go back home?
