Taylor
"Ready?" Katie says. Lilly has her own hospital room that she's in. Mom and Dad are talking to each other. I nod to Katie. "Mom, Dad, we're going to the bathroom."
We walk out of the room together. Katie walks up to the reception desk and asks what section of the hospital someone in a coma would be in. The lady tells us, and we start walking that way. When we get there, Katie asks her where Cameron's room is. I walk in.
Aubrey stands up when she sees me. Cameron is just laying there with a tube in his mouth and bandages over some of his body. He looks so lifeless. So cold. So powerless. So inert. So paralyzed. So passive. So helpless. So
"What are you doing here?" Aubrey says interrupting my thoughts. My eyes are fixed on Cameron and his comatose body on the hospital bed. "Hey!" Aubrey snaps her fingers. "I asked you a question. At least have the decency to respond."
"I came to see him." I say. "I heard he's in the hospital. Mrs. Watson told me. I-I just wanted to see him."
"Yeah. Well, you're no help. If you hadn't told him that you can't see him anymore then he would still be alive. He wouldn't be in a stupid coma." Aubrey says.
"I'm sorry. I just wanted to make sure he's okay."
"He's fine, no thanks to you. Now please leave this place at once!"
"Come on." Katie says leading me out.
We walk around a corner, and that's when I break.
"I've never m-met somebody like him." I say.
"I know. I know. But, you'll meet somebody like him again, I promise." Katie says.
Her reassuring words aren't as reassuring as I'd like them to be. I just ignore it. I wipe tears from my eyes, and try my smile at her.
"Like as if you weren't even crying." She smiles.
