Diana stared up at the ceiling, eyes glassy as she thought back to the argument she had with Regulus a few hours ago. Now that she thought about it, she really had been complaining about Sirius at every moment, how pathetic was that? Her anger was justified, she knew that for sure, but she didn't have to talk about it twenty-four-seven, she could only imagine how done her friends are with her right now.
Every time she brought it up, she was trying to get to the part of how much it confused her, how upset she was with the situation and how she just wanted to curl into a ball and cry her eyes out about it, but she couldn't.
She needed to stay strong, not only for Remus, but for James and Peter as well. They were hurting too, James maybe the most. Naturally, all of them were angry with Sirius, for obvious reasons, of course. Remus was the angriest, there wasn't a doubt there, who came after him, Diana could never know.
James was livid when it happened, she could still remember the way he'd yelled at Sirius, she'd never seen him that mad before. Not even when she'd broken his favorite toy when they were younger. But now, James seemed to really want his best friend back, even if he was mad, he'd never gone without Sirius this long since they met.
Her brother had grown extra loud these days, making more jokes. trying to lighten the mood. But where she normally told him to shut his mouth, she decided to let it go.
Peter was mad in his personal, quiet way. Diana saw the way he avoided the topic, she noticed that Peter tried his best to cheer up Remus and keep him into the conversation so he wouldn't fall quiet again. She'd never seen them play as much Wizarding chess ever, as she did for the past weeks, Peter challenging Remus for a game every time the tall boy started to sulk and do nothing.
Remus's ever so small, witty, smart comments, had disappeared. He'd ignored all of them the first days, until he realized that his three friends were also ignoring Sirius. He probably figured that they'd be mad at him, but forgive him for it the very next day, but it hadn't been the case. The third day, he'd started to sit with them again, speaking to them when they addressed him.
Diana knew how angry he was, he had all the rights to be. He was angry and sad and scared. Secretly, she thought Remus missed Sirius too, but she never spoke these thoughts to anyone.
She herself was angry too, everyone knew that at this point. But gods was she upset. Her friends were falling apart and she couldn't do anything about it anymore, if she tried to be the peace maker, maybe Remus would never speak to her again. She wasn't sure if things would ever go back to the way they were, she wasn't even sure if she would ever be ready to forgive Sirius.
And now, all this drama had even drawn a wedge between her relationship. How she'd been so stupid to manage that was beyond her. How did she not realize all her complaining?
At the same time, she was upset at Regulus that he had gotten so angry with her. If he had just talked to her, she would've understood, she would've changed. Instead, he had started yelling at her and suddenly took Sirius' side in all of this.
She didn't know how she could handle that.
"Are you even listening to me?" A voice, followed by a finger poking her, brought Diana back to reality. Marlene was looking at the girl laying down on the ground of the fifth years girls dorm.
"I- no, I'm sorry," Diana apologized silently and swallowed, her dry throat stinging slightly as she did. "What was it?"
"We were speculating on what Sirius has done wrong this time?" Mary spoke up, a brow raised. "Wait- did he cheat again?" She asked, eyes wide with realization.
