Hello my niffleeersss!!
Some of you might recognise the first part of this chapter because I posted it before I finished it, so uhh, yea sorry about that.
Anyway, I'm changing a few things in my last few chapters, because I just casually forgot to add like- the only canon scene we have of the Marauders? Like wtf.
Anyway, with stuff like this I normally decide to put it in the rewrite but this is a little to big to just... ignore.Anyway, please enjoy the chapter😍
"Regulus?" He looked up at the sound of his name, momentarily glancing at the girl that had come in to join him up at the astronomy tower, before turning his head back to watch the mountains in the distance.
"Hey, Dora," he greeted silently, a blank look on his face. Of course his friends had realized something was off. It was obvious, really, even he knew that. "Come to interrogate me, then?" He pointed out the obvious, as she came to stand next to him, leaning her arms on the railing.
"I don't like to call it that," her soft voice said. "More like hear you out, don't you think?" She smiled up at him and he couldn't help but let a small smile appear on his face as well.
"Yeah, sure," he nodded, still looking off, far into the distance. "Whatever you wanna call it," he finally tore his eyes away to look at her for a second, his smile falling as he did. He cast his eyes down and looked outside again, this time following some passing birds.
"What happened?" She asked curiously, starting to fumble with the silver rings around her fingers.
"I uh, I had a— well a fight, with Diana, if that's what I can call it," he mumbled and she nodded. "But you probably already guessed that," he let out a dry, humorless chuckle.
"Why did you fight?" Her voice held no judgement, no indication of wanting to pry or anything of the sort. She just wanted to know what was bothering him, to let him talk and tell her whatever he wanted to say.
"I mentioned the uh, the thing we talked about?" He took a short glance down at his best friend who simply nodded.
"That she mentioned the fight with your brother all the time," she recollected and he nodded. "She didn't take it well?" There was no hiding of the surprise in her voice, because she was certain Diana would have understood.
When Regulus had asked her for advice, she wasn't surprised, because she knew it was bothering him, she saw it on his face whenever Diana started again. Pandora knew that the girl didn't even realize she was doing it, didn't realize that she kept repeating herself every day, every time.
Of course she told Regulus this and he understood, agreed even. He promised to take her up on her advice and talk to Diana about it, voice to her that it bothered him and why. Pandora had reassured Regulus that she'd understand, that she'd listen and hear him out. So what had gone wrong was beyond even her.
"No- no that's not it," he shook his head and turned around, leaning back against the railing, hands going to cover his face. "Oh, Pandora I am so stupid," his voice grew louder as the sentence progressed, causing him to almost yell the last word.
"Hey, don't say that," she rested a hand on his shoulder, a flash of concern in her eyes as she looked at the side of his face.
"No I am, I really am," he insisted, shaking her hand off of him. "Dora, she mentioned it again and I- I," he couldn't look her in the eye as he was trying to admit to it.
"What happened?" Her voice had lowered, trying to be as gentle as she could with him, like he'd break if she spoke a tone too loud.
"She mentioned it again and I told her to shut up," he didn't look at her as he said it, but he knew she'd frozen, just by the silence he was met with. "Who the hell does that? Why did I do that?"
