Cha Eun woo's POV
My calves were killing me from basketball practice. Doing cardio in the morning felt like drinking coffee after breakfast.
After—but also during practice—I thought about Y/n. Her face and whatever happened on the phone last night was circling my mind. As well as our get-together at the arcade, which my heart could never forget.
When Y/n left the arcade—or when Jungkook pulled her away—her wallet had dropped from her pocket.
I couldn't really help but notice that the back pockets of her jeans weren't that big and reliable for a bulky wallet to be stored in. It wasn't because I was eager to look at her butt or whatever, but it stuck out like a sore thumb.
I wanted to sprint back over and hand it to her, but the vehicle she was in had already raced off. It had the function of a race car but the look of a paparazzi vehicle. Or for a mafia or something.
Looking at her wallet, it had cute embroiydered patterns on the front. On the inside, it showed the standard stuff like student I.D, gift cards, debit card, coupons even.
There was a polaroid photo stuffed in the front pocket with thin, black sharpie written as the caption 'Family and me' with a heart drawn next to it.
The photo showed Y/n sat on a wooden bench at a park with her happy, adorable smile as she sat on the far left side, her father sat beside her, then her mother, and then her little sister.
Her head was laid on her father's shoulder like her inner-child had been embraced at that moment and shone like a bright light. She matched that energy with her sister who was young and probably around 5. Y/n looked about 15. About 3 years ago.
She looked so happy at 15. This also must've been before she transferred here from Australia. Now that times have changed and since she's moved here, she doesn't seem to smile like that anymore.
My mind could only jump to one rational reason.
Jeon Jungkook.
I was walking over to her dorm room to give back her wallet, which I was surprised she didn't texted me about it. A lot must've been going on that would occupy her mind to not even think about her wallet or even feel that it wasn't there.
Her wallet also had a little slip of paper with the dorm number and a simple map of the location on it, probably to remind her where exactly she would need to go. Such a 'her' thing.
Once my feet met the doormat, my nerves washed away by the sound of Y/n's voice. Although, not a very calm, happy voice.
Something was going on as she screamed, "I'm gonna kill you!" and it sounded pretty serious, but yet I couldn't tell if it was a joking-serious or genuine serious.
After that, she screamed, "Get off of me!" which was a bit alarming. The side of me that thought that perhaps she's playfully fighting with a friend or even her room-mate slowly dissolved.
The courage fought back, and my hand was curled to a fist, ready to knock. At the last words of "I hate you!" shouted by Y/n, distressed and uncomfortable, I knocked on the door.
I unexpectedly met gazes with Jungkook, with the eyes of a zoned-out deer and the body of a marvel character. Y/n shot her eyes up at me with the same look.
Y/N's POV
There was Cha Eun woo at the door with his handsome face shining brighter than any star. What was he doing here? I asked myself.
My gaze slyly shifted up at Jungkook's side profile for a glimpse of what emotion chose to stick out towards him.
It wasn't entirely discontent, but it wasn't pleased either.
