Half an hour of sunfall—talking back and forth with Hoseok, speeding black car to the arcade, breaching inside with no company but himself—Jeon Jungkook—shooting a gaze of betrayal and familiar rivalry with the one his heart leaned to whom is standing with her second handsome companion while having a distant stare-off with her mutual enemy—later...

I would say I was dragged over back in the dorm room, but without him actually using force or grabbing ahold of my arm.

My mood had already shifted to a more pissed one, which anyone could tell by the rhythm of my feet walking past each dorm to our own.

I walked in ahead of Jungkook, both of our feet meeting the ground harshly each step we took.

"Who wants to go first?" He slammed the door.

"Is the rule 'Not allowed to have friends' ?" My arms were automatically crossed while not having the full courage to face him. I knew he was shooting his eyes at me like daggers trying to pierce my spine.

"You can have friends. Maybe not ones you can ditch a date with." Jungkook snarled. "Do you even know how fucking long I've been waiting in that restaurant—alone, waiting for YOU, half-dressed in a second-hand suit?"

Given the dose of daily annoyance, I turned to face him with my displeased expression. "Wow. Poor you. It must've stunk not being able to call me or text me about it."

Jungkook looked at me like I was the idiot in the room. He knew he had my number stored somewhere in his contacts, but probably forgot about it just as how I forgot about the last-minute planned date.

"And who said it was a date?" I said. Jungkook's lips moved before he could speak. "I mean, wouldn't taking someone out already be considered as a date?"

"You've had a girlfriend before. Shouldn't you know what is agreed to be a date and what's just a normal day out?"

No words could be delivered from Jungkook's mouth just yet as it seemed to be processing longer in his brian than it should've.

His ignorant tone had dimmed down to a casual tone. "Ji-eun Mi.. never really liked dates. She just liked the scene of us being together in public view without us actually going out privately."

Dates are what normal couples do to get to know each other better and enjoy their company in places they can find memories, but in Jungkook's case, they relied less on knowledge and attraction to the person's personality and more about their high-class and the looks of a rich and romantic relationship.

I easily understood since it was similar to my first relationship. He cared more about how he looked rather than how he felt about me.

My chest let out a sigh. I immediately felt the string of guilt tangle up inside me. "I'm sorry about tonight... I genuinely forgot."

"What was that?"

Jungkook raised his hand against his ear.
"I'm sorry." I said clear enough for his liking. He still seemed to have wanted to continue with the tease, but asked me instead, "I don't believe someone like you forgetting a dinner plan after 24 hours."

I admittedly didn't completely forget about it. "I suppose I was a bit.. scared. Not like- terrified, but, nervous, probably."

"How come?"

I lightly swallowed. "Last time I went out with someone as a date.. it wasn't exactly what I hoped for and..."

My gaze was lowered to the floor until I was met with Jungkook suddenly in front of me, 10cm proximity with his dark chocolate eyes glazed over my short figure.
