67. Losing a Family Member

Kagali's POV

I had helped Yuki get to the location of the true hero that was sealed away and am now on my way back to Tempest. Of course I plan to use a spacial movement to get there and have Tear with me as protection just in case. Now that she got a small buff from the harvest festival like everyone else in the troop she has gained a stronger ego. Since I'm in the capital of Rubarios I can't teleport out of the city without triggering the barrier around the city. So to escape the city before that Hero goes berserk and to be able to teleport safely I need to leave the city and go to an inconspicuous area so I'm not followed. According to father the hero is powerful but has lost its reasoning so we need to bring it to him in order to help them regain their self control. After I left the city I used telepathy to inform Yuki that we are outside the city and he can begin the plan. After doing that I then started to teleport but something was preventing me from doing so. Of course Tear also noticed my delayed teleport so she spoke up to inquiring as to why that was.

Tear- "Is something wrong  boss Kagali?"

Kagali-  "I can't teleport since something is preventing me from doing so."

Tear- "Are we in danger then?"

Kagali- I'm fairly certain and confident we are Tear. It appears someone has caught on to our plan. But I don't know who it is yet since I can't sense anyone with magic sense. How about you?"

Tear- "I can't either."

So it is someone who is likely more powerful than we are or has a skill made specifically for this particular situation. There goal is likely to defeat us or capture us. At least that's what my planner skill is telling me is likely.

Kagali- "Tear, we are in a trap currently that someone wants to use to either capture us or worse. So try to keep an eye out for someone approaching us from any direction you can."

Tear- "Gotcha boss."

As I she said that the person in question revealed themselves to us.

????- "Well aren't you a sharp one."

As I heard his words I turned around and got into a combat stance along with Tear. Neither of us were goi g to go down without a fight if we could help it.

Kagali- "Why have you put us in an isolated area that prevents us from leaving?"

Tear- "Ya and who are you as well?"

Granit- "Me? I am Granit of the eastern empire. As for my reason for being here, well it should be obvious at a glance that I'm here for you Kagali, or should I say demon lord Kagali."

Kagali- "I have no reason to go into your custody especially if you know who I am and who I use to be."

Granit-  "I see you misunderstand my meaning. I heard you had a sharp mind but I guess they were exaggerating a bit."

Kondou- "Stop wasting time Granit. The emperor has given us this mission and we can't fail it either. Why else would he send us both together to capture a mere demon lord seed."

It seems like another one has come out of hiding as well. This situation is the worst one I've been in since my battle with Leon so long ago. But at that time I also had Galaxia's help as well which makes this situation so much worse. But even worse I can't even analyze either of them as it just comes up blocked like it does for many others I've met before.

Granit- "Relax Kondou. My skill says that she is weaker than either of us. She would barely make it into the top 20 of the imperial guard."

Kondou- ".........."
