Rimuru's POV

Me and Sasha both traveled through the cave as she devoured the monsters in the area so the three idiots didn't die traveling through. We also did it so she could get the skills the monsters had. She was so happy when she could use the bats echolocation to speak, but unlike me she did turn it into sound manipulation. She is definitely smarter than I was back then. After all she can still talk but now has another method of combat. I was surprised when she used sound manipulation to paralyze the -A rank tempest serpent by matching it's frequency so she could have an much easier chance to devour it whole unlike me who had to use water blade to kill it first. It makes me so proud of her. After that we made it to the entrance but I decided to pull a small prank on the trio so that they would get spooked and hopefully become more cautious when traveling in monster infested areas. I put a very poorly made giant spider statue near the entrance that is smaller than the real thing. However I didn't expect them to just walk right past it and not notice it at all.

Ciel- "The likely walked by due to having poor night vision dear."

Rimuru- "Ya but they should have had a torch or something right?"

Ciel- "................ I can't defend their actions anymore."

Wow even Ciel can't defend them says something. It makes me more surprised I didn't notice it either the first time. Again we traveled through the woods and I intentionally didn't tell Sasha about controlling her aura so they would come for us like before. I hid mine as usual. Sure enough the goblins appeared but they all jumped in surprise after they saw me next to Sasha who gave off the strong aura.

Goblin 1- "Strong ones why are you heading towards our village?"

So they realized I'm not weak after they saw us together. I guess Rigur was always smarter than normal. They are smarter than Gabil was at first at least. After they said that I picked up Sasha and took over the discussion.

Rimuru- "I'm just passing by the area after meeting an old friend of mine. Is something wrong?"

Goblin 1- "We have been going on patrols ever since our guardian deity disappeared around 4 weeks ago. The monsters in the forest have become more active recently and we are looking for help from others. Will you come to our village and speak with the elder?"

Rimuru- "Sure as long as there is tea I'll at least hear you out."

Goblin 1- "I thank you for giving us your time o great ones."

After that like before they took us to their village and asked us to help protect them in exchange for their loyalty. I of course agreed but Sasha sent me a thought communication seemingly confused as to why we are helping them for just a possibility of loyalty.

Sasha- "Father why are we agreeing do easily? What if they choose to go back on their word and run away after we save them?"

Rimuru- "If they were not monsters I would agree with you but monsters are very straightforward in their thinking. They follow the strong and if you're too weak to be strong enough to defend yourself or be useful to someone who is then you deserve to die. They are not like humans who manipulate others stronger than them for their own benefit. They are more so if you treat them well and help them survive better. Monster culture is very basic to the point they all monsters know the basic rule of the strong shall rule. As in the strongest thing alive currently along with Veldora and his sisters we are in their eyes fit to rule. If they can secure a position under us then they will be safe and have a high chance of gaining much under us. So in conclusion, you will usually meet three kinds of monsters. One is the ferrel kind like you killed before. The second is one that would rather die than kneel to others. And the third are those who understand their strength and act accordingly to the rule of strength rules all. So the goblins here knowing they are weak and we are strong chose to follow us. Keep in mind we are not hero's we are monsters too."
