64. Escalation

                         Veldora's POV

This situation has gone according to the plan of Rimuru so far. My sister has been struggling to even hit me and I've been luring her to get closer and closer to Rimuru to defeat her. By doing so we can get her to return her memories or at the worst, have Rimuru eat her again. Rimuru also tells me he has a plan to create a trap for Michael and Feldway as well in the plan. However, I've brought her near him multiple times and he still hasn't done anything to her yet. I'm starting to think that something is wrong and am getting concerned. I guess I'll throw a thought communication his way to find out what is happening.

Veldora- "Yo Rimuru buddy, what's going on? Why haven't you done anything yet to help deal with Velgrynd?"

Rimuru- "Sorry Veldora I'm having problems with getting help from Ciel right now. Just hold on a little longer for me."

Veldora- "Sure thing bud. I hope you can resolve this problem soon however. Velgrynd seems to be realizing something is wrong here."

Something is wrong after all. I wonder what unexpected situation came up that is causing him to be unable to follow through with the plan. It's annoying since dodging my sister's burning breaths has become hard as she improves. I will not give up however especially since I've been practicing a new technique to try in this fight. The sacred text has never let me down when it truly counts after all. I then used more attacks to begin going more on the offensive since I was only defending or dodging before. If I don't start to attack soon then I'll just lose from not defending myself properly. I know we need to make my sister lose energy to win but I don't know how much. She is after all almost running on empty by now. If Rimuru was able to then I'd have no need to show my cards like this yet but circumstances change when you don't want them to usually. After a while longer Rimuru finally contacted me again.

Rimuru- "Alright I'm ready to finish this battle. Use that new technique you've been working on and switch with me instead of a tree."

Veldora- "Kuha ha ha ha. Finally, I shall begin immediately then."

It seems that I will get to use that new technique at all. I guess the world itself must wish to see it then. Though I wonder why Rimuru wanted me to switch with him instead of a tree like in the sacred text? Well I'll see why in a little bit so I'll just follow the plan for now.

Rimuru's POV

The plan is going well so far but Ciel and I can't understand why those two who were with Masiyuki ran away so quickly. I sent Milim and Sasha to get them in custody together since they can handle it just fine. Milim will likely even find them boring to deal with but Sasha will have a similar problem like I did before. I had Benimaru go fight Damrada even though he hasn't awakened yet so he can gain the desire for an ultimate skill like before but I also sent Ultima to help him if he needs it. I also asked her to try to bring him alive so I can use him for my own purposes. If I can get him on our side before the Tenma war I'll have more cards to work with as well. For now I have been setting up the plan to put Velgrynd in my sub space so I can restore her memories and have her help to sabotage the plans of Feldway as well. That sounds easy but she is still a true dragon and forcefully absorbing her at her strongest and against her will would still be hard. She could after all create another clone to send her main consciousness to and all of that bodies energy before I could fully absorb her. Of course once I have her caught I'll certainly win but she can delay my victory by buy time still. It's unlikely her being so hot headed would do that but since she is under mind domination I can't rule out Feldway using his manipulations to help her somehow. Luckily it seems that Veldora has worn her down enough to make it easy to consume her so I just need to get her to attack me directly like last time. Veldora says he will do what he can and asks that I just make his new technique succeed for him. I don't know why he wants to do this specific one since it's just the substitution jutsu from Naruto, and we have better ways of doing such techniques in this world, but each to his own.
