23. Allying with the Dryads

                              Treyni's POV

For around a month me and my sisters had been busy watching over the Jura forest to the point where we had a hard time protecting the Trents. Recently it had gotten even worse. Our powerful benefactor had still not returned and many powerful entities had started to move around in the forest. Especially in a recently almost destroyed goblin village. They had gotten a new ruler and the direwolves had joined them as well. One had left and I had been Doris had been watching it for us and said it evolved into a new rare species.

Doris- "I'm telling you it's not a dark or shadow wolf it's something else."

Trya- "Ya and what else could a dark black shadowy wolf be. What makes you think it's something else?"

Doris- "Well mainly from the fact it seemed to just be able to suck everything in like a bottomless pit. It even has been recruiting more direwolves and shadow wolves to its pack. They could very well become a big player in the whole forest soon."

Treyni- "So now we have another group to watch with not enough manpower. Things are just getting out of hand."

After that I felt a large amount of energy heading our way from the sky. It felt like dragons, multiple of them.

                           Rimuru's POV

I was making my way to the Trent settlement with the new subordinates I had gotten. I didn't like the plan Ciel had made to get them but apparently she said it was the best and fastest option to convince them.

Ciel- "Rimuru the dryads have noticed our approach."

Rimuru- "Ok then. Alright everyone hold here. The dryads are coming so I want you to be respectful of them. They help keep this forest safe that I live in and after our talk will likely work for me as well. I told you the rules of my village on the way here I hope you haven't forgotten them already."

Dragons- "Of course not sir."

Rimuru- "Good then. Let's land so they feel comfortable approaching us for a chat then."

And so we did. After we did so of course the first to appear was Treyni herself. Ah she is just as impressive as I remember before Ramiris that is tainted her.

Treyni- "Why are you heading towards our settlement ruler of monsters?"

I'm surprised I'm being called that already. But it will fit me more as time goes on. Especially after Gazel visits us and gives us Vesta.

Rimuru- "I'm here to ask you to work for me until I can reunite you with your beloved spirit queen who I know personally. You might actually know who I am Treyni."

Treyni- "What do you mean I might know you and you'll reunite us with the spirit queen?"

Rimuru- "I currently know her location for one. But I plan to ask her in the future to come live in my village since I'll need her help later. I would go now but I'm short on time. The reason you might know me is because I was at the dwelling of spirits long ago before you become a dryad. I wasn't allowed to tell people my name then unfortunately."

Treyni- "So you will ask our queen to live in that village of yours? She deserves a much better place than that to live at."

Rimuru- "I won't force her to and I'm going to improve my village before I invite her there. It's also the reason I came to you first. You can help me so the village is up to par with being a place she can live in."

Treyni- "I can agree to those terms but still why would I personally know you?"

Rimuru- "As I said I once visited the dwelling of spirits to acquire some spirits of my own and brought a kid there before Veldanava took me away from there."

After a minute of thought Treyni seemed to realize who I was and immediately bowed down.

Treyni- "Mighty void dragon cousin of all true dragons I am sorry for my rude greeting to you. I remember your visit when I was but a child long ago. Have you finally been freed from your cell?"

Rimuru- "Yes I have. My powers are now under control and I have received permission to tell people my name now. It's Rimuru Tempest by the way."

Treyni- "Oh great lord Rimuru, I remember you keeping your promise to my queen long ago but it was destroyed by those dam angels soon afterwards. I beseech you to regift her that which she lost. She was heart broken by it since you were forcefully taken away."

Rimuru- "I will do that when I see her again but unfortunately like I said I short on time. So will you help me and my future nation or not?"

Treyni- "I will help you lord Rimuru in your endeavors until my queen returns to us."

Rimuru- "Good. Now then, I also came her to help all of you dryads evolve as well. I sense a danger to the forest is drawing near and you all must become stronger."

Treyni- "You will evolve us? But we already have names my lord."

Rimuru- "I see that you have been watching me already then. But no I won't name you I have a different method in mind for all of you. I first need to be brought to your tree Treyni."

Treyni- "Very well my lord."

Soon she brought me to her tree she has inhabited and I did what I did before and turned her and her sisters into Tryas Dolls. Now they are not bound to spirit form and can move around freely. They also went up in disaster rank but that isn't important right now. I unfortunately didn't have time for the Trent's but they were very understanding. After I finished evolving them they again bowed before me.

Dryads- "We thank you for this gift lord Rimuru."

Rimuru- "Oh you guys, it's nothing just continue to help me keep this forest safe ok."

Dryads- "Of course our lord."

Rimuru- "Now I have a short trip to Dwargon to make so I'll be gone for a few days. Can I ask you to watch my village while I'm gone?"

Treyni- "It shall be done my lord."

Rimuru- "Thank you Treyni and I hope we continue this partnership for a long time to come."

After that I returned to the village with the dragons and Treyni in tow. It felt nice to finally have some real muscle in the village again besides just me and Ranga. Now I feel assured the others will be safe while I'm gone.

Short chapter today since it's an interim chapter.

Now the village has some actual threats staying there. But how will Rimuru feed the dragons?
