60. A Teachers Lessons

Hinata's POV

It saddens me I'll have to fight Sensei like this. I wanted to ask Rimuru what he did to her but it seems like the fate is getting in my way again. I guess I'll need to fight her and win so I can confront Rimuru himself about it. She seems to have gotten stronger since I last saw her for some reason as well. The individuals near Rimuru also seem stronger than I expected. They look as strong as Luminious or stronger even. I then tried to use my usurper skill on each of them and it was blocked by most of them. Only a couple of people did it still work on but they weren't any of the strong people I was worried about. Looking at the battlefield currently under way it looks like the crusaders are being beat back with great ease. I even saw one of the hobgoblins get its head caved in but it still continued to fight and even healed itself. The demons nearby all looked to be at the level of a greater demon or higher which was even worse than I thought I'd be. It looked like a larger group of Gyukki and Baki are also apart of the army the poor knights are fighting. They are clearly outnumbered and outmatched in every way. How did he get such strong subordinates in such a short amount of time? The weakest ones seem to be of B+ rank or higher. Worse still they can't even seem to die at all. Does Rimuru have a skill similar to lady Luminous perhaps? No, if what she tells me is true he is likely beyond my comprehension in power. It was at that moment I received a telepathic message from a surprise source.

Rimuru- "Hinata it's me Rimuru I need to speak with you."

Hinata- "I can do that but know that I didn't send these knights here to fight you or to invade your nation. I only came to talk with you."

Rimuru- "I know that and I know who is pulling the strings as well."

He does? How did he acquire such information like that? Did he want this to happen? No, there is a more important question to ask him.

Hinata- "Who orchestra the attack then if not you?"

Rimuru- "The seven days did. Though it was mostly Granbell and the Roso family. They plan to come reinforce the army here soon and then pin the blame of my ambush on you tipping me off to the attack. They seem to want you dead as well for some reason."

Hinata- "It's mostly from jealousy. I can believe it was them who caused the attack but why haven't you exposed their treachery and ended this battle already? Why are you standing by and doing nothing?"

Rimuru- "One reason is to let my subordinates get more experience in combat but mostly it's to lure out the Roso's from hiding. If they're so desperate to destroy my country that they'd risk angering me then I shall oblige them."

Hinata- "Oblige them?"

Rimuru- "Yes, I shall show them why resistance against me and my ideals is futile. Especially since I am a part of their religion as well. In a funny way they are now heretics who must be punished for going against their lords will."

Hinata- "Ok, so why are you telling me all this?"

Rimuru- "Because I want you to help Shizu grow stronger in a dual with her. She is close to awakening and I want to help her evolve in a safe environment if possible. If you agree I'll spare your men and even give you a gift after its conclusion."

Hinata- "As long as you answer a question I want to ask you first."

Rimuru- "Another question? What else's would you want to know about?"

Hinata- "Around a week ago Shizu collapsed for unknown reasons and I think you have something to do with it. What did you do to her? It better not be what I think it is."
