39. Quickest Meetings Ever

Carrion's POV

My people had recently gotten great wealth from our trade from Tempest. It has made my people happy to be allies with them. It also helped that the person sent as a representative was strong and a male. It made my people believe that Tempest was a worthy ally even more since they started to import really good beer to us. I'd also heard that the person who came wasn't even close to the strongest person in the country. Even so he still gave me a good bout. He still lost but he did better than Alvis did on her latest attempt. Of course this all changed when Milim came one day to declare war on me. I only later learned that this was a plan to defeat Clayman and not me. At the time I knew that this was likely going to be a hard fight or worse. I of course sent my subordinates and those who were in the capital to go to Tempest to not be caught up in the battle. It took a few days to finish but they all managed to escape in time. I then had my battle with Milim and lost. Frey along with Milim then dragged me to Frey's domain for an unknown reason. After we arrived and we all entered the castle they put me down and healed me. I of course returned to a battle stance for a possible second round but what they said next stoped me entirely.

Milim- "Sorry for doing that to you Carrion but it was necessary for the world's future."

Carrion- "And who exactly is it?"

Rimuru- "Allow me to explain that for them."

Carrion- "Rimuru!? What are you doing here? What's going on?"

Rimuru- "I'm actually not really here. This is a body double of me made of shadows. We call it a shadow clone. But to summarize why this all happened in a few words, it all has to do with Claymans scheme."

Carrion- "And that's why you destroyed my capital and kidnapped me?"

Rimuru- "Not entirely. We did it to fool Clayman into thinking you were dead. He is currently being brainwashed by the eastern empire into weakening the demon lords. We are making an attempt to remove this brainwashing without the east knowing. To do that we need it to appear like he got himself killed. Now the reason all this happened to you is because Clayman was targeting you personally along with your people. Oh and don't worry your capital is still there I just put up a large scale illusion to fool everyone into thinking it was destroyed. You haven't lost anything at all besides a loss to Milim."

Milim- "Ha ha ha. Carrion you still have much to learn before you can beat me."

Rimuru- "Milim not now please. Anyway you'll get to see your self gain justice at the next Walpurgis so don't worry about your people for now and stay here. I'll keep them safe and you will join Frey in Walpurgis to sneak in. Any questions?"

Carrion- "Do I even have a choice in the matter?"

Rimuru- "Not for this unfortunately. If we don't do this then the world will likely be destroyed in the next Tenma war. This next one will be the worst one yet."

Carrion- "How do you know all this?"

Rimuru- "My information network puts all others to shame. It's also part of a deal I made with Milim's dad long ago."

It was at that moment I truly realized who Rimuru is. A being that's even stronger than a demon lord. A old legend that was passed down as a fairy tale by my ancestors. The void dragon, our long worshiped god.

Carrion- "Are you possibly the void dragon?"

Rimuru- "I am yes. Why do you ask."

Carrion- "It was passed down long ago by one of your servants that you would return to the world and lead our people into a better future for us all. My forefathers also told us that you were a trust worthy individual to believe in. Often when our people were in need you sent one of your subordinates to aid us. Some even worshiped you as a guardian deity of our species. I never personally believed but now that you're here in the flesh I'm not so sure."
