The waiting room is silent, save for the odd sniffle.

Felix is sitting, slumped against the back of his chair, his mind still reeling from the events of the past few hours.

He knew that Chan was struggling with something- they all did. 

It was kind of hard not to notice, when the leader was looking more exhausted than usual, when he was getting tired faster and faster each rehearsal. 

They all knew that something was going on. 

They just... didn't do anything about it. 

They never do. 

Why? 

Why do they always do this? 

It's an endless cycle- Chan overworks himself to the point of exhaustion, collapses, and they scold him, trying to implement changes. 

But nothing ever changes. 

They're still in the same situation they were as trainees, still stuck in the cycle. 

And look where it got them. 

They nearly lost him. 

They did lose him, for a few minutes. 

Even now, he still may leave them. 

He buries his face in his hands, the words from the nurse, brief but sympathetic still ringing in his ears. 

"We're doing all we can, but his previous condition complicates matters. The next few hours will be critical. I'd suggest that you... all brace yourselves, just in case." 

The words were soft, spoken with the air of someone who cares deeply, both about the patients and their loved ones, someone who does not want to have to be the bearer of bad news, yet has no choice. 

Previous condition. 

Chan was hiding something from them, something life threatening. 

The shock that has settled over the group only deepened with the news. 

Minho had left, had gone to take a walk, saying something about needing some air. 

Felix can't blame him. 

He can only imagine how the dancer must be feeling. 

The dancer has always been among the most vocal of them, the first one to convince Chan to take a rest when he needs it, the first one to scold Chan when he gets sick, or too exhausted to even speak.
