I know you all must be wondering when this book will finally end. Honestly, when I first started writing on Wattpad, I had no idea how things worked. That’s why my early chapters were short, which ended up increasing the total number of chapters. But I’ll do my best to wrap up the book by March or April. Stay tuned!

Neel and Harsh were deep in conversation when Shivansh walked in. Seeing them talking, he casually joined them. Just then, Mahak descended the stairs. Her gaze fell on the three of them together, and without hesitation, she turned to Shivansh.

"I need to talk to you. It's important."

Harsh immediately understood what Mahak meant. He walked up to her, concern etched on his face. "Bhabhi maa, are you okay?"

Mahak simply nodded. But Shivansh had already pieced everything together-he knew what had happened at the hospital. He opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, Mahak cut in.

"I need to talk to both of you. Neel bhai, you too."

"Okay," Neel said, and the three of them followed her to Shivansh's room.

Once inside, Shivansh laid everything bare, recounting the events at the hospital.

Neel was stunned. "Rudra can't do this. He loves you, Mahak," he said, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Mahak instantly jerked his hand away. Shivansh sat in silence, watching them. Mahak stepped closer to him, her voice laced with something between anger and betrayal.

"You knew, didn't you?"

"No, Mahak, I swear, I didn't. I'm just as shocked as you are."

"Saheb doesn't tell me anything these days. But you would know, right? And even if you did, you wouldn't tell me. You can't go against him. We all know that."

"Mahak, trust me, I really don't know," Shivansh said, his voice firm.

Before Mahak could push further, Gauri walked in. She looked at all three of them, her brows furrowing.

"What's going on here? Is everything okay? Did Shanya's family refuse the alliance?"

Neel immediately clamped a hand over Gauri's mouth. "Can you shut up for a second? Let us speak first!"

She pulled away, frowning. "Fine."

Mahak took a deep breath. "Nothing's wrong. We were just planning the engagement."

Gauri sighed in relief. "Oh. Well, Dadi's calling everyone downstairs to pick out rings."

Neel and Mahak left. Gauri turned to go too, but Shivansh's voice stopped her.

"Gauri."

She turned back. "Yeah?"

"Have you seen Saheb anywhere?"

Gauri shook her head. "No, haven't seen Bhai since morning. Even called him, but he didn't pick up."

She stepped closer, noticing his bandaged hand. She gently took it. Does it hurt?"

"I'm fine," Shivansh replied.

"Sit down," she said, not giving him a choice.

Shivansh sighed but obeyed. Gauri carefully redressed his wound, her fingers light yet precise. The whole time, Shivansh's eyes never left her.

"You okay?" he finally asked.

Gauri glanced up, a small smile playing on her lips. "I'm fine. You were there, weren't you?"
