Dr. Malhotra’s words felt like a death sentence. "Saheb … She has slipped into a coma."
The air in the hospital corridor turned unbearably heavy. Rudra felt his breath hitch, his fists clenching so tightly that his nails dug into his skin. His vision blurred for a moment, and all he could hear was the deafening silence that followed.
"Coma?" His voice was hoarse, almost unrecognizable.
Dr. Malhotra sighed. "Her brain endured immense pressure. The panic attack caused her nervous system to go into shutdown mode. It’s difficult to say when she will regain consciousness."
The world around Rudra stopped Mahak… his babydoll… the girl who was always full of life, who smiled like a child and spoke with the innocence of a soft drizzle… was now lying lifeless on that hospital bed.
"No… this can’t be happening."
What She is in coma but how can it happen ? Alok asked Dr. But Dr. Malhotra only remained silent and looked at Rudra but Rudra's gaze fixed on Mahak's room
No…" Rajni staggered back, covering her mouth.
Gauri clutched Shivansh's arm, tears streaming down her face. "How did this happen? Bhabhs was fine before… How did she—?"
All eyes turned to Rudra.
Harsh took a step forward, his voice shaking with anger and grief. " Bhai, what the hell happened? How did Bhabhi maa reach this state?"
Neel’s jaw tightened. "Why was she panicking in the first place?"
Shivansh whispered, "What pushed her to this point, Saheb ?"
But Rudra… he couldn’t say a word.
His throat felt like it was filled with glass shards. His mind was drowning in guilt, in regret, in unbearable helplessness. His lips parted but no words came out his mind is still processing That suddenly what happened to his babydoll when he gave him a last sight she was fine she was good without saying anything and any look
He turned sharply and rushed into the room. His heart clenched painfully at the sight before him. Mahak was lying still, her face pale, her delicate fingers motionless. The beeping of the monitor was the only sign that life still lingered within her.
Rudra stepped closer, his hands trembling. He gently held her hand, pressing it against his lips. "Wake up, Babydoll… this silence doesn’t suit you." His voice broke. "You used to be angry at me over the smallest things, right? So why are you quiet now?
But she didn’t move. Didn’t even flinch.
A deep guilt gnawed at him. Mahak thought he was a liar, a cheater… she had turned her back on him, believing he had betrayed her. And the worst part? He had let her believe it.
A tear slipped down his cheek. "I couldn’t tell you the truth, Babydoll. I endured your hatred, but this… this I cannot bear."
His mind was drowning in the moments they had shared—the way she scrunched her nose when she was angry, the way her eyes sparkled when she spoke about her dreams, the way she pouted when he teased her.
She was his babydoll… and now, she was slipping away from him
He wiped his tear and came out of the room
The hospital air felt like poison in his lungs. Without looking back, without a single word, Rudra walked out.
He didn’t know where his feet were taking him. He just walked.
