Harsh and Mahak Arrive at Shanya’s House

Harsh and Mahak arrived at Shanya’s house. Mahak knocked on the gate, and Shanya’s father opened the door. She greeted him respectfully with folded hands, while Harsh stood behind her.

"May we come in?" Mahak asked with gentle politeness.

"Of course, guests are like God," Shanya’s father replied, stepping aside to let them in.

They entered the living room, where Shanya’s mother was already seated. Harsh and Mahak sat on the couch, while Shanya’s parents took the seats opposite them.

"Who’s here, Papa?" Shanya's voice came from the staircase as she descended. But the moment her eyes landed on Harsh, her steps faltered. And just like that, Harsh’s gaze found hers, locking onto her with an intensity neither could ignore.

Mahak, noticing the silent exchange, leaned toward Harsh and whispered playfully, **"Well, my dear dewrani (sister-in-law) is quite beautiful, isn’t she?"**

Harsh simply smiled, saying nothing.

Clearing his throat, Shanya’s father pulled everyone’s attention back to him. "So, what brings you here?" His eyes settled on Harsh. "We know him," he said, then turned to Mahak. "But we don’t know you."

Harsh and Mahak exchanged a glance. Harsh wasn’t sure how Mahak would introduce herself, considering Rudra had kept their marriage a secret. But after a brief pause, Mahak spoke with quiet confidence.

"I am **Mrs. Rudra Pratap Singh**… and Harsh’s **bhabhi** (sister-in-law)."

The moment those words left her lips, everyone in the room turned their full attention to her. Even Shanya studied her with renewed curiosity, a bitter thought flashing through her mind—**Just how many secrets is the Singh family hiding?**

Shanya’s father exhaled sharply. "There’s no point in this conversation anymore. I’ve already fixed Shanya’s marriage."

Mahak’s expression didn’t waver. She turned to Shanya, then back to her father. "But, Uncle… will she ever be happy there?"

Shanya stiffened, but Mahak continued. "I understand Harsh made a mistake. He should have been honest from the start. But he never wronged Shanya—not in action, not in intent. He didn’t manipulate her, didn’t disrespect her. The only thing he did… was love her. He hid the truth because he was afraid of losing her. And he was about to tell her everything. That’s why he was hesitant to meet you all—he wanted to do it the right way."

Her words hung in the air, the weight of truth pressing down on everyone.

Then Mahak turned to Shanya’s father again. "Uncle, if you don’t mind… may I speak to Shanya alone?"

He glanced at his wife, then at Harsh, before giving a reluctant nod.

"Go ahead," Shanya’s mother said.

Shanya led Mahak upstairs to her room.

Once inside, she gestured toward a chair. "Please, sit."
