Was she making a mistake?
Was this all a trap?
A joke?
Or something much more dangerous?

Mahak’s mind was drowning in questions. Doubts twisted in her gut like a storm, but one question screamed louder than the rest —
Did Rudra really betray her?

That message had shaken her to the core, hijacking her thoughts, dragging her into this terrifying spiral.

The auto halted.

She stepped out, heart pounding like a drumbeat of dread, and looked up. The address was right. A lifeless building stood in front of her, lonely and silent. No people. No trees. Nothing that could hide a scream — or save her.

Still, she took a deep breath, clutched her dupatta tighter, held her phone close, and gathered every drop of courage she had left.

She stepped inside.

Somewhere not far behind…

Rudra's grip on the steering wheel had tightened so much that the veins in his arms looked ready to burst. His face was pale with fear, eyes wild with panic.
Where was she?
Was she okay?
Was she safe?

He slammed his foot on the accelerator, blood thundering in his ears.

Inside the building, Mahak called out into the darkness. “Is… is anyone there?”

No response.

She walked further in. “Hello?!”

A voice echoed from the shadows.

“Yes. Come in. I knew you’d come.”

The voice was slow. Deep. Ominous.

And terrifying.

Suddenly, the lights blazed on.

Mahak froze.

A middle-aged man sat on a wooden chair with all the arrogance in the world. His brown eyes were unnaturally sharp. A long, deep scar stretched across his neck and forehead. His face was harsh, made worse by his half-tied long hair and the four armed men standing behind him.

His voice dripped with mockery. “Why so scared, sweetheart? I told you, I won’t hurt you. I just knew you’d come for the truth about your dear husband. And look — here you are.”

Mahak took a step back, anger boiling in her blood, fear smothered by rage. “Stop this bullshit! What do you know about Rudra?”

The man chuckled darkly. “Temper. Just like your husband’s. Sit down, relax. Let us host you. After all, your darling Rudra enjoys hosting his enemies… why shouldn’t his baby doll enjoy the same?”

He stood up, eyes scanning her hungrily, and took a step forward.

But before he could get closer—

“Don’t even think about touching my wife.”

Rudra’s voice thundered from behind her.

He stood at the entrance, tall and furious, eyes ablaze with fury. The man laughed, clearly enjoying the show. “Oh my, the husband joins the party! I called the wife, and he came running. True love!”

Mahak turned, her eyes immediately locking with Rudra’s. The fear in her heart began to fade — but it wasn't gone. Especially not when the man yanked her close and placed a gun against her head.
