5 PM-CM office Lucknow
Shivansh’s POV
The office was unusually quiet that evening.
Files were stacked neatly on my desk, calls had slowed down, and for once everything seemed under control.
Which was exactly when chaos decided to walk in
.
A peon approached me hurriedly, slightly out of breath.
“Sir Saheb is calling you. In his cabin.”
That wasn’t unusual.
But something about his tone felt off.
I straightened my coat and walked As I walked toward his cabin, a strange uneasiness settled in my chest. I didn’t know why but since morning, something about Saheb felt different.
I knocked twice.
“Come in.”
That same deep, authoritative voice but there was something else in it today.
Something heavier.
I stepped inside.
“Saheb, you called me?”
He was standing near the window, hands behind his back, looking outside like the entire city belonged to him.
Slowly, he turned.
His eyes met mine.
Cold. Sharp.
But beneath that
Something restless.
“Yes.” He walked toward his desk.
“Sit.”
I remained standing.
“Saheb?”
He didn’t waste time I want information.”
I frowned slightly.
“On whom, Saheb?”
His jaw tightened.
For a second, he didn’t answer.
And then
“That girl.”
I blinked.
“Which girl?”
His eyes darkened instantly
“The girl in the red suit.”
My mind clicked.
The road. The rain. That girl.
The one who
made him smile.
Oh.
That girl.
I nodded slowly.
“The one we saw on the road?”
He took a step closer.
“Yes. Her.”
There was no hesitation now.
No confusion.
“Everything,” he said, voice low but commanding. “I want to know everything about her. Her name, her family, where she lives, what she does every single detail.”
I inhaled slowly.
“Saheb that kind of information"
He cut me off.
“You have one day.”
Silence.
I almost thought I heard him wrong.
“One day?”
I cleared my throat.
“Saheb, one day is too short a time to gather complete background information”
Before I could even finish
SLAM!
His hand hit the table hard enough to make me flinch. The sound echoed through the cabin.
His eyes locked onto mine.
Dangerously calm.
“Your transfer order can also be issued in one day, Shivansh.”
My breath hitched.“So think carefully what matters more to you.”
I straightened instantly.
No hesitation now. No argument.
“I’ll give my 100%, Saheb.”
Wrong answer.
I realized it the moment his expression hardened further.
He leaned forward slightly, voice dropping
“I don’t want your ‘100%’.”
A pause.
I want results.”
The room felt heavier.
Colder.
More suffocating.
“Understood?”
I nodded immediately.
“Yes, Saheb.”
A brief silence followed.
Then I remembered something.
“Saheb tomorrow evening, we have to attend a wedding.”
He looked up, slightly annoyed.
“Our employee’s daughter Riya. The wedding is in Lucknow.”
For a second, he said nothing.
Then
“Yes. I remember.”
His tone returned to normal.
Just like that.
As if nothing had happened.
“You can leave now.”
I nodded and turned to walk out.
But as I reached the door
One thought kept echoing in my head.
What just happened ?
Outside the cabin, I let out a slow breath.
“What’s going on with Saheb?” I muttered to myself.
He never lost control like that.
Never.
And now
He wanted information on a girl.
A random girl.
Within one day.
I ran a hand through my hair.
“Great, Shivansh bas yehi reh gaya tha.”
Then I straightened my shoulders.
Because no matter what
If Saheb had said it, it would be done.
11:00 PM CM Residence
Rudra’s POV
The night was quiet.Too quiet.
I stood alone on my balcony, the city lights stretching endlessly before me.
Usually, this view calmed me.
Grounded me.
Reminded me of control.
But tonight
Nothing felt right.
Because for the first time in years Iwasn’t in control.I closed my eyes.
And there she was.
Again.
That same face.That same smile.
That same rain-soaked moment.
Her.
I opened my eyes immediately, jaw tightening. “What is happening to me?”
I had faced enemies, politics, betrayals without flinching.
But this?
This was something else.
Since the moment I saw her She hadn’t left my mind.
Not even for a second.
Her laughter.
Her eyes.
The way she said
“Don’t use an umbrella it hurts the rain.”
A faint, almost invisible smile touched my lips.
Crazy girl.
And yet
I wanted to hear her voice again.
I leaned against the railing, staring into the darkness.
“Who are you?”
My voice was barely a whisper.
But the question burned inside me.
I wanted to know everything. Her name.
Her world.
Her story.
Everything.
Because somehow
Without even knowing her
She had managed to do something no one ever could.
She had disturbed my peace.
And now
Nothing felt right without her.
I closed my eyes again, letting her image consume me.
“Everything feels incomplete”
A pause.“without you.”
And then
Softly.
Almost like a confession
“You’re just like your name…”
A faint breath escaped my lips.
“Mahak.”
