The evening air at the Singh mansion was thick, a suffocating cocktail of festive cheer and haunting melancholy.

The entire clan had gathered, including Neel's family. Neel, and Trisha stood like statues of a fractured past; Neel, in particular, kept his distance, his presence a silent boundary. But the heart of the home was missing-Gauri was nowhere to be found.

Phone calls went unanswered, echoing into the void of "unreachable" tones. Only a cryptic message offered a sliver of hope: "I'll be home by evening." They clung to those words, waiting with bated breath.

But Gauri wasn't the only one they were yearning for. Every heart in that room was silently whispering a prayer for Shivansh. It was his birthday, after all-a celebration for a ghost who had yet to show his face.

As the clock ticked on and Shivansh failed to appear, a shroud of gloom descended once more. Defeated, they decided to cut the cake. If they couldn't celebrate with him, they would pray for him.

Just as the knife was about to meet the frosting, the massive mahogany doors of the living room swung open. A sudden, biting gust of wind swept in, carrying a fragrance that felt like a forgotten memory. Every head snapped toward the entrance.

There stood Gauri. She looked run-ragged, her eyes wide with a mix of exhaustion and raw trepidation. Her throat was parched, her voice barely a whisper.

"Gauri!" Rudra's voice boomed, sharp with paternal worry. "Where on earth have you been since morning?"

Gauri flinched, her voice trembling. "Bhai... I... I brought something back."
"What?" Rudra demanded.

Then, emerging from the shadows behind her, came Shivansh. He was dressed simply-jeans and a tee-but his face was a canvas of crushing guilt. He kept his gaze glued to the floor, looking for all the world like a man awaiting his execution.

The room transformed. The gloom evaporated, replaced by a radiance so bright it felt like a miracle.

Rudra was the first to break the trance, lunging toward him as the others trailed behind.

Rudra gripped Shivansh's shoulders. Shivansh visibly shuddered, bracing for a blow, a lecture, or a rejection. Instead, Rudra pulled him into a bone-crushing embrace.

Shivansh froze in his tracks. He didn't dare move. In all these years, this was the first time Rudra had ever hugged him.
"Welcome back," Rudra whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

Shivansh's mind was spinning like a top. He couldn't wrap his head around it. Saheb knew everything-the office scandal, Gauri's breakdown-and he knew Shivansh's hand was behind the chaos.
Yet, here he was, being welcomed with open arms. One by one, the family embraced him, their faces glowing with a warmth he felt he didn't deserve.

Gauri watched from the sidelines, her heart swelling. But as the dust settled, every eye in the room turned toward her, eyebrows raised in silent interrogation.

4:00 AM.
Gauri stared at her reflection, steeling her nerves. "I hope you're there," she whispered to the herself in the mirror. Without a word to anyone, she slipped into the night.
