Everyone stood frozen, their eyes glued to Rudra’s face—his rage had painted his cheeks crimson. But Mahak? She stood unfazed. Still as a statue, her gaze fixed on the shattered mug pieces scattered around her feet.

One wrong step, and those sharp shards would’ve pierced right into her bare skin.
Rudra’s hawk eyes caught the scene just in time—his fury now turning into panic.

Before Mahak could move an inch further, he strode towards her in a flash. His anger melted into urgency. He didn’t even realize when he left his spot and rushed to her like a storm breaking loose.

“Don’t move!” he ordered, voice hoarse but trembling with fear.

She blinked, startled, as he reached her, kneeled down without a second thought, and carefully picked the broken pieces away from her feet. The room watched in stunned silence.

“You got hurt?” Rudra’s voice was barely above a whisper, but the weight of his concern hit like thunder.

Mahak didn’t say a word. But her eyes… her eyes spoke louder

Rudra looked into Mahak’s teary eyes. He stepped closer, gently cupped her cheeks and asked,
"Did it hurt too much, babydoll?"

She shook her head softly.
“No... I’m fine,” she whispered.

Without another word, she turned toward the kitchen. Rudra was about to say something when Shivansh spoke from behind,
“Saheb, don’t worry. I’ll handle it. You don’t need to stress.”
Then turning to Shivansh, Rudra said sternly,
“Stop. No press conference. Not now.”

“But there’s one in an hour at the office,” Shivansh hesitated.

Rudra shot him a sharp look, raising a single eyebrow. Shivansh immediately understood and lowered his gaze,
“Sorry, Saheb.”

Rudra walked into the study room, scanning some important files. Mahak, silently, followed him and placed his breakfast tray on the table.

As she turned to leave, Rudra gently caught her hand and made her sit beside him.

“What happened, huh?”
He searched her face.
“Why were there tears in your eyes?”

Mahak lowered her gaze and said quietly,
“I didn’t mean to shout... the cup slipped from my hand.”

“I’m sorry,” she added quickly, “I didn’t realize you were already angry... otherwise I would’ve just stayed quiet.”

Rudra smiled faintly, pulling her into his lap. Wrapping his arms around her protectively, he murmured against her hair,
“I’m sorry too. I wasn’t angry at you, Mahak. Never. I... I could never raise my voice at you.”

He took a deep breath, his voice softer now.

“It was just... everything else. I was frustrated. But you? You're my peace.”
And my anger is not for you never my love is for you and with that he kissed on her cheek and she blushed

Rudra looked straight into Mahak’s eyes, his gaze piercing yet gentle. He traced her cheek softly with his finger and asked,
"Do you trust me when I say I'll always be by your side?"
