Where just a few hours ago the mansion echoed with laughter and music, now silence and grief had wrapped it like a thick blanket. Joy had turned into chaos  Gauri was fighting for her life in the hospital, and Shivansh had vanished without a trace.

Neel’s world had shattered into pieces. The same people he had called family were the ones who broke him — his love and his brother-like friend. The pain was unbearable, and to numb it, he sat on the edge of a lonely cliff, legs hanging over the side, the night around him heavy and silent, the bottle in his hand giving him temporary peace.

Then, out of nowhere, a gentle hand rested on his shoulder. He turned — and there she was. Trisha.

The moment he saw her, he turned his face away, jaw clenched. Trisha didn’t say a word — she quietly sat beside him, the sound of the wind filling the silence between them.

After a few moments, her soft, soothing voice broke through the night.
“Are you okay?” she asked gently.

That one question — that small kindness was enough to break the dam Neel had been holding inside him. His eyes filled with tears, his shoulders trembled, and before Trisha could react, he pulled her into a tight hug.

Trisha didn’t resist. She let him cry, his face buried against her shoulder. Her fingers brushed through his hair slowly, comforting him in the only way she knew. Maybe, just maybe, his tears would lighten the weight crushing his heart.

“I really loved her, Trisha,” Neel whispered against her shoulder, his voice broken. “I loved Gauri with everything I had. I waited so long for this day… but why did this happen to me? What did I do wrong? My own people betrayed me. Gauri hid the truth, Shivansh lied to my face. Why?”

He pulled away, looking up at the sky through wet eyes. “If they had told me the truth — if Mahak  had just been honest — none of this would have happened. I would’ve accepted it. I would’ve let Gauri go. I just wanted her to be happy. But now…” he laughed bitterly, “…now no one even cares how I feel.”

When he finally looked back, Trisha’s eyes met his full of sympathy, pain… and something else. Something Neel couldn’t quite name.

“You came,” he whispered hoarsely. “Only you came. Only you cared.”

And then he gently laid his head in her lap, exhausted, his tears soaking into her dress as he mumbled everything he couldn’t say to anyone else. Trisha didn’t realize when her own hand began to stroke his hair, when her heart softened toward him.

Soon, Neel’s breathing slowed. He drifted into an uneasy sleep, still clutching her wrist as if afraid she’d leave him too.

That night was endless for everyone at Singh Mansion. No one slept. Everyone was drowning in guilt, regret, and unanswered questions. Mahak sat near Gauri’s hospital room, her hands trembling, her heart heavy with guilt  if only she had told everyone the truth earlier, maybe things wouldn’t have gone this far.

Morning came, but it didn’t bring peace just exhaustion and a faint hope that maybe, somehow, things would be okay again. Gauri would recover. Shivansh would return.

Neel, however, didn’t come home  nor to the hospital. He had left for his farmhouse, and Trisha went with him, unwilling to leave him alone in such darkness.
