The house was alive that morning — laughter, music, and the scent of turmeric filled every corner. Guests had arrived, relatives were busy chatting, and the haldi ceremony had begun.

Shivansh, Vaani, Neel, and Gauri were all dressed up, glowing in shades of yellow.
First, they applied haldi to Shivansh, then to Vaani.

But the moment Vaani’s face brushed against the turmeric meant for Shivansh, a flicker of pain crossed Gauri’s eyes.
She had always imagined herself in Vaani’s place — and that dream shattered silently inside her.

Soon, Neel’s haldi began… and finally, it was Gauri’s turn.
As the paste touched her cheeks, her tears slipped down — one by one. Everyone around her grew emotional too. They hugged her tight, trying to comfort her.

But from a distance, Trisha’s gaze didn’t leave Neel  not even for a second.

To lighten the heavy air, Mahak suddenly began to dance and pulled Rudra to the stage with her. Their playful chemistry brought back smiles.and everyone dance too with gauri,Shivansh, neel, vaani  Afterward, the family gathered for family photo.

When Rudra started to leave, Shivansh stopped him.
“Sir… can I get one single photo with you?” he asked.
Rudra simply nodded. The flash went off capturing a quiet bond between them.

The haldi was done. The mehndi followed.

That night, in her room, Gauri sat staring at the deep green stain on her palms  Neel’s name glowed under the soft light. Suddenly, she heard a door open.
It was the room next to hers — Shivansh’s.

Gauri walked in quietly. Shivansh stood facing away from her, near the bed. She stopped just behind him, her heart heavy.

“If my presence here bothers you so much,” she said softly, “then I’m leaving. Be happy with your Vaani. I only said yes to Neel for your sake. And if you don’t want me here, I’ll never come back.”

Her voice trembled as she continued,
“But tell me, why are you doing this to yourself… and to your brother? Why all this pain? I’ll leave India after the wedding. Don’t worry — I haven’t told anyone anything, and I never will. I’ll never use the fact that I’m Saheb’s sister. I’ve made peace with it — not every love story gets a happy ending. Some remain incomplete… like ours.”

Shivansh turned around sharply, anger flashing in his eyes — but before he could speak, his foot caught on hers. He lost his balance, and in an instant, they both fell onto the bed.

Shivansh ended up beneath her, Gauri on top. Her palms pressed against his chest, while his hand instinctively caught her waist — the other on her back.

Their breaths collided.
For the first time, they were this close — close enough to feel each other’s heartbeat.

Five whole minutes passed in that silent storm of emotions… until a phone rang, shattering the spell.

They both scrambled to their feet, adjusting their clothes, their eyes avoiding each other. Gauri checked the phone — it was Neel calling.

She stepped out of the room, only to find Neel standing right there in the corridor. It was past 1 a.m.
