Hearing Gauri's scream, Rudra ran towards Mahak. Everyone was gathered around her, trying to bring her back to consciousness. Rudra pushed everyone aside, lifted Mahak in his arms, and took her to the room. He gently placed her on the bed and turned to Shivansh, shouting, “Why are you just standing there? Call Dr. Malhotra right now!”

Rudra placed Mahak’s head on his lap, softly patting her cheeks. “Wake up, Babydoll, please,” he pleaded. Shivansh immediately called Dr. Malhotra. Just then, Dadi spoke up, “Not Dr. Malhotra, call a gynecologist. I think there’s good news.”

“Dadi, please! Nothing like that is happening,” Rudra said, irritated.

“What do you know, son? I’ve got years of experience. I can tell just by looking at her face. See how flushed she looks?” Dadi insisted.

“How would I not know? I’m her husband, and she’s not pregnant. Don’t assume things,” Rudra snapped back.

Sudha intervened, “Let the doctor come, maa ji. They’ll tell us what’s going on.”

“When is Dr. Malhotra coming?” Rudra yelled.

“He’s on his way,” Neel replied, placing a reassuring hand on Rudra’s shoulder.

Just then, Dr. Malhotra entered the room with Shivansh and said, “Please, everyone steps outside. I need to examine the patient.” Neel guided everyone to the living room, where they sat in silence, worried etched on their faces. Nobody could understand what had suddenly happened to Mahak.

Sudha, visibly upset, said, “I don’t know what’s wrong with my daughter. She was so happy just a while ago. Whose evil eye has fallen on her?”

Suresh placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Don’t worry, Sudha. The doctor is here. Let him handle it.”

Dadi added, “Once Mahak is better, I’ll personally ward off any evil eye on her.”

In the room, only Rudra was with Mahak. Dr. Malhotra examined her eyes, checked her blood pressure and pulse, and finally gave her an injection. He then turned to Rudra. “Saheb, it’s a panic attack again.”

Rudra frowned in confusion. “But this time she wasn’t stressed. She was so happy. She just fainted while dancing.”

Dr. Malhotra nodded. “There are different types of panic attacks. This one occurs when the mind is overloaded. It might be triggered by suppressed memories. Can you recall anything from Mahak’s past that could have affected her?” from last two to three days

Rudra thought for a moment before saying, “Last night, Mahak mentioned she doesn’t celebrate her birthday. In fact, she said she doesn’t even remember her birthday.”

Dr. Malhotra’s expression turned serious. “That could be a clue. Something from her childhood might be triggering these episodes. We’ll need to figure it out soon. For now, I’ve given her an injection. She’ll regain consciousness in a while. Make sure she’s not stressed, and follow the medication I’ve prescribed for the next two days.”

Rudra nodded. “Thank you, doctor.”

Dr. Malhotra handed him the prescription and left. Rudra called Shivansh and instructed, “Drop Dr. Malhotra off and let everyone know that Mahak is fine. She fainted because of weakness and will wake up soon.”

As Shivansh left with the doctor, Rudra sat by Mahak’s side, gently caressing her hair, his eyes fixed on her innocent face. After a while, he leaned back against the bed and began working on his laptop, never straying too far from her side.
