Scale Number: 1
With his prodazha following right behind him, Kal had to close his eyes and take a quick breath to steady himself. Remembering clearly how easily it was to allow anger to flood through him without his little woman there to calm him.
The kid may have revealed his true intentions, but that smart mouth of his was still very much the same, "Do you know where you're even going?"
Kalayavan had never been to the infirmary more than a handful of times, but he still knew every inch of Headquarters like he knew every crevice of his woman's body. Which meant he could picture exactly where they were in his mind's eye, he knew they were only three floors above the birthing rooms. Which was where they were almost certainly keeping her along with only the gods knowing how many other women.
No doubt it was just a new group his pet would want him to save also, if she didn't try to do it herself first.
With a heavy sigh, Kal flattened himself to the wall, looking around the corner to find someone heading in the other direction with their back turned to the two sneaking around. Darting across the gap, he waited until they were moving forward again, keeping his voice low. "Yes, now if you don't have anything useful to add, like my..." the next time he stopped to check if the coast was clear, Hal was already holding out the Beretta he had lost in the chaos of losing his pet.
Instead of thanking him like Cat would have demanded of him, he grunted his appreciation. Now if he came face to face with Ky, it wouldn't be much of a fight. Not when there would be a grapefruit sized hole in the center of the fucker's face.
When they were coming up to another corner, the two of them were stalled when a young Relevent came to an immediate stop in front of them. He had his training uniform on, a magenta circle that contained the Klenar insignia was bright on his chest. A thin layer of sweat covered his face and neck, the only exposed skin outside of the constricting full body suit, a sign he was likely on his way back to his bunk. His eyes widened, after all it wasn't like Kalayavan wasn't well known, even before he'd gone rogue and abandoned the company.
Silently reminding himself to ask Halrim what kind of lies they'd gone and told about him.
As the recruit opened his mouth, the eldest of the three shot his hands out. One covered the boy's mouth while the other grabbed the back of his head and spun him back around so Kal was now holding the boy to his chest.
"Don't kill him," Hal hissed desperately, making Kalayavan roll his eyes dramatically and causing the poor kid to panic. Crying out something from behind the muffling hand, sounding along the lines of, 'yeah, don't kill him'. But he wasn't entirely sure, and he wasn't about to remove the barrier to find out either. "Here," pointing to a door not too far away, Hal opened it and the two Sepireers went in, dragging the recruit behind him.
Only it was a private bunk, and the owner was currently staring at them.
Kalayavan was thankful that he hadn't been an entirely disappointing mentor, and Halrim was able to render the Relevent unconscious quickly. Leaving the boy as a witness, who Kal simply locked in a sleeper hold with ease knocking him out just as fast. Only he was kind enough to lug him over to the stone slab of a bed, instead of dropping them to the floor as Hal did.
"Now what?" Hal gestured to the two unconscious bodies, "We can't just keep leaving more of these guys to wake up and come after us. By the time we get to wherever it is you're taking us, we'll have the entire compound coming to and chasing our asses down."
Although Kal hated to admit it, his underling was right. They were going to need an actual plan while moving forward, not just plowing through like a primal protective mat. His face was far too recognizable, especially in a fit of rage. Which had been all the time, his life had been an entire fit of anger before he found his woman.
