Scale Number: 3 (After chase)
When Kalayavan turned his back, at first Sophia just looked over at Cat, something telling her the brave girl wasn't about to leave her alone with this seething man's wrath. Even if it meant losing her favorite spot on the compound. It made Cat smile at the notion, knowing there was no threat to her life, just maybe some painful punishment, but nothing she hadn't been preparing herself for this entire time.
It wasn't worth the poor kid giving up her privacy for, so she jerked her head toward shore, silently telling her young hostess to leave. Although she hesitated for another second, the girl finally made her way out of the water. Getting dressed before she had time to dry off, her clothes were clearly wet as she shot a look at Kal. "You better be nice to her," pointing a warning finger at him before taking off back toward the house.
The two of them watched her disappear, then she counted to ten, waiting for him to turn around and face her again. So angry that he needed to control himself first, coiled like he was ready to get his hands on her again. Uncaring that she had just finished healing, he looked like he was ready to pull her out and whip her ass into submission.
With one last deep breath he stepped closer to the swimming hole, ready to handle the situation as calmly as possible. "Come here," there is absolutely no emotion to his tone, which is somehow more frightening than when he's enraged.
Its crystal clear waters hugged her naked form as she swam towards the small shore. When she was able to stand, the top of the water lapped at the crown of her breasts. His eyes distracted momentarily by the sight, snapping between her face and engorging tits. Just as her eyes were drawn to the jerking movement in the front of his pants as he advanced further, kneeling so he was eye level with his woman as she approached.
Instinctively, his large hand shot out to twist around the back of her soaking wet hair, his grasp forcing her to rise the rest of the way out of the water. His only helping hand tangles in her nearly white strands, forcing her to stand before him. Completely exposed, the cool breeze provoked her nipples to harden them under the rough material of her bra, to the point it was burning like Icy Hot. The water dripped down her curves, collecting in her navel, a movement his eyes followed. The small flick of his tongue against his lip told her he was thinking about chasing them with it.
But his anger seemed to rival the urge, wrestling him for control over his next actions. "What the fuck were you thinking?" He finally asked with a snarl, his mouth now just inches from hers. Pulling back, he waited for an answer, just enough that his eyes were able to track the bob of her throat as she swallowed hard, trying to be brave in the face of his rage.
This was the first time she's seen him so angry, "I understand you're upset. But I was safe, with Sophia, and there was no one else around..."
Sophia is still a child, Caterina! Not even an adult by your standards! You're no safer with her than you'd be with a baby bunny."
Cat's eyes went harder than pure diamond at his words. Sophia had been so kind to her and helped her let loose for the first time since Greg died. Something she couldn't really say about Kal, who was constantly bringing new complications into her life. "That's not true and you know it," she spat back at him, feeling an unfamiliar anger bubble within the pit of her stomach that rose up to mix with her words.
Kalayavan tightened his grip in her hair, pulling her so close that their noses brushed together. His body trembled with anger, "Don't you try to tell me what I know about these kinds of people, little girl. There are more my kind of people than yours."
A flash of hurt swept across Cat's features, her lower lip quivered, taking it in a way that said 'his people will never be her people'. Perhaps she'd been right this whole time, he didn't plan on keeping her around long enough. The thought caused her to become cooler than the warm water of the pond. It wasn't like she wanted them to be her kind of people anyway, not much had changed from the night before.
