Kalayavan wanted to smash the damned machine that continued to make a repetitive noise that had long graded away his last nerve. Instead, he just grabbed a hold of Cat's unmoving hand, bringing it up to his lips to plant a soft kiss there. Willing her to open her eyes and assure him that she was fine, even if Yuka had already tried to do that already. As one of the Klenars who escaped with us, she was the only one among them all who knew any actual medical knowledge.

There was a soft knock to announce Halrim's presence, although he didn't enter the room completely, staying in the large open doorway with his arms crossed over his chest. "We're going to need to get moving soon," there was a slight hesitation before he asked, "Are there any changes?"

His mentor just shook his head, eyes locked on the intertwined hands in front of him.

Whatever Crysis had done to her, whatever the Belistik had given to her via injection, it had caused his pet to remain unconscious despite all of the jostling it had taken to get her here. Yuka had reassured him that he hadn't hurt her or their daughters with his forceful methods, it was probably because of her human status combined with the stress of the situation at hand. Not that he bothered to correct her when he knew Cat wasn't as human as the Relevent thought.

"Kal, we need to discuss where to go from here," Hal kept his voice even and low, maybe because the kid actually felt some kind of empathy as he was with his Kanfedant now. Or so as not to show any form of challenge to the Sepireer's new role.

But Kalayavan hadn't asked to be put into this new leaving position, and he sure as hell hadn't wanted to become one of the new Elders. Voted into the role alongside Hal, Ester, Yuka and Raen; Halrim's Nerader, or the woman who'd had the job before they all rebelled. All because they were the five taking control and unintentionally leading the men and women that had come with them.

"I don't care, lead them wherever you wish and I'll be right behind you. As long as he was by Cat's side the entire time, waiting for her to wake up; tending to her every need until he was shooed away by Yuka. During those agonizing ten minutes, she forced the man out into the hall with a look that could easily slice a diamond in half so she could do her examinations.

There was the soft sound of paddling feet before Halrim's foreign price appeared behind her Pretekter. As she had since they left the compound, she wasn't shy about voicing her annoyingly unwanted opinions, "Ya know, we could just leave the lass. She causes more trouble than she's worth, wouldn't ya be sayin'?"

Setting his Kanfedant's hand carefully back on the thin mattress, Kal rose to his feet and slowly turned to face the overzealous woman. Finding that Halrim had already straightened from where he'd been leaning against the door frame, now standing in front of his own woman in a protective manner. As was his instinct, just like it was Kalayavan's that forced him to raise an arm and point a finger at the red-head. "You best be watching your feking tongue, lidel gerl."

The woman prickled, "What did he just call me?" She asked all offended, to the man she was subconsciously clinging to.

But Halrim was already jumping to her defense, "Don't." Drawing his former mentor's attention to him instead, he was quick to take the Attention Whore out of the light she so desperately wanted to be in.

Kalayavan was only stopped when yet another body stepped between them, "This isn't going to solve anything." Despite the woman's weirdly familiar voice, neither men looked down at her too busy staring each other down in defense of their females. The dark haired woman scoffed with disappointment, "Clearly you two need to take a breath, before you start something no one wants finished."
