Miko paced in the VIP room, the adrenaline from the performance still coursing through her veins. She felt a strange mixture of excitement and nervousness as she waited. Her thoughts kept drifting back to Y/N—her infectious smile, the way she'd looked at Miko like she was the only person in the room.
Focus, Miko. She mentally slapped herself. She was here for business—meeting fans, taking pictures, doing the usual post-show routine. But her heart was still racing, and all she could think about was how badly she wanted to see Y/N again.
She checked her phone, half-expecting a message from her manager. Sure enough, a text popped up:
"The girl you asked about—Y/N—she's waiting outside. She's with two other friends. You good?"
Miko smiled, her pulse quickening. She typed back quickly.
"Yeah. I'm good. Just... tell her to meet me by the side door."
Her manager's response came instantly:
"Got it. She's going to freak."
Miko couldn't help but laugh softly to herself. She was freaking out too.
Minutes later, the side door to the VIP room creaked open, and Miko's heart leaped into her throat. Y/N walked in, looking just as radiant as she had during the show. The moment their eyes met, Miko felt a strange pull, as if the entire room had suddenly faded away.
Y/N looked nervous but excited, her hands fidgeting at her sides. "Hi," she said, her voice soft but filled with excitement. "I can't believe this is real. I'm so sorry if I'm being awkward—this is just... a lot to take in."
Miko chuckled, her usual confidence wavering just slightly. She crossed the room, her heart pounding as she approached. "No need to apologize. Honestly, I've been thinking about you all night. You're kind of hard to forget."
Y/N's face turned crimson, and she looked away for a moment. "I... you've been thinking about me? Like, me?"
Miko smiled, leaning against the wall casually. "Yeah. I'm not used to meeting people who feel so... real, you know? Most people are so polished, but you're different. And you're manifesting me, of all people." She laughed lightly, feeling a bit shy for the first time in a while.
Y/N blinked in disbelief, then her lips curled into a grin. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound crazy. I just—" She stopped herself, taking a deep breath. "I really thought I would meet you. I just knew it would happen."
Miko's heart fluttered. "That's pretty amazing. I don't know if I could ever be that sure of something." She took a step closer, her voice quieter. "But I'm glad you did. I'm glad we met."
Y/N's eyes widened as if she couldn't quite believe the words coming out of Miko's mouth. "You are?"
Miko couldn't help herself. She took another step forward, closing the gap between them. "Yeah. I think you're something special." She reached out, gently pushing a lock of Y/N's hair behind her ear. "I don't want this to be the only time we talk."
Y/N's breath hitched, and she looked like she might faint. "You're—this isn't just... the post-show, you know, being nice to the fan thing?"
Miko shook her head. "No, Y/N. This is me, being real with you."
The room felt smaller, the air thick with an electric tension that Miko couldn't ignore. She didn't want to, either.
Y/N's lips parted, and for a split second, Miko thought she might kiss her. But then the sound of Miko's manager clearing his throat broke the moment, and they both looked over, startled.
"I hate to interrupt," her manager said, "but you've got press waiting, Miko."
Miko sighed, but she didn't break her gaze from Y/N. "Give me five more minutes," she said, her voice low and firm.
Her manager hesitated but then nodded, backing out of the room.
Miko turned her attention back to Y/N, smiling softly. "I'm sorry about that. It's always something." She reached for Y/N's hand before she could second-guess herself. "I'm glad you came, though. I'm really glad you're here."
Y/N smiled, her fingers tightening around Miko's. "I'm glad, too. This has been, like, the best day ever."
Miko grinned. "I'm making it even better. We'll hang out after this, okay?"
Y/N's eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly. "Yes. I'd love that."
Miko pulled out her phone and typed something quickly, handing it to Y/N. "Here's my number. Call or text whenever. I'm serious."
Y/N took it, her hands trembling slightly. "I will," she promised, still staring at the phone like she couldn't believe it.
As Miko stepped back, she looked at Y/N one last time, her heart full of something she hadn't felt in a long time—hope.
"I'll see you soon, Y/N."
The smile Y/N gave her in return made Miko's chest ache in the best possible way. "I'll be waiting."
As Miko walked back toward the press area, she couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe, this was more than a coincidence. Maybe Y/N had manifested something bigger than a meeting. Maybe she'd manifested them.... And Miko was all in.
