Warmth fully engulfed and swallowed me as I sat in Michael's arms. His legs were up either side of my body as I had slotted between them wrapping my own arms tightly around his waist racking my nails against his back in the gap between his back and the sofa as we were half lying down.
"I missed you." I muttered into his chest not daring to move an inch incase he'll slip through my fingers. It has been a few hours since I saw him again and we left their office and I was in constant fear that this was all a figment of my imagination and he'll just... vanish.
"I missed you too." His deep voice soothed my nerves letting me know he was really here, not hauled up in jail. I felt my body instantly sink back down into his feeling like one person.
Slowly his hand snaked up my back rubbing my shoulders gently as he leant down and kissed the crown of my head making a small smile form on my lips. "I was stupid to fight this." I nodded against his chest knowing I did my own case of fighting whatever we had growing between us, pushing it deep down and burying it beneath the surface.
"We both were." I firmly spoke letting him know it weren't just his fault, we both hide and pushed away any feelings we had. "It was stupid."
"No you were scared," he placed his hand gently under my chin and pulled upwards so I locked eye contact with him seeing his cheeks all rosy and lips slightly parted. "I pulled you into this life." He whispered shaking his head and letting out a single drawn out long breath closing his eyes.
"Oh please I could have ran." I joked rolling my eyes before squinting at him "you aren't as athletic as you look Clifford,"
A loud laugh left his lips as he threw his head back exposing his Adam's apple to me squinting his eyes back shaking his head.
"Dream on." I crawled up his body placing my hands gently over the waistband of his joggers before sliding my hands over to the center under his bellybutton playing with the strings tied there.
"I can run,"
"But you can't shoot." He remarked breathing deeply as my hands continued placing with the elastic,
"I can to." I scoffed leaning back on my knees moving my hands to his stomach,
"No need to get defensive Ni," he chuckled leaning forward so he's sitting fully up kissing me softly and moving his hands to my waist now. Little shit. His thumbs softly rubbed circles on to the bare skin due to my crop and jeans, goosebumps arising to the surface. "I heard what happened when I weren't here," he muttered,
"Nothing happened?" I was so confused placing my hands on top of his holding them against my waist loving the warmth flowing through my body from them.
"You challenged Luke Ni," I let my eyes close slowly sighing and looking down rubbing my thumb against his hand before looking back up at him.
"I just felt like I weren't wanted Mikey. Like- like they thought I was incapable of helping lead." I gently explained shaking my head moving to pull my hair over my right shoulder revealing the side of my neck.
"It's what happens Nicky, there's an order." He softly explained making me nod softly,
"I know-,"
"If I get caught, Luke steps up, if Luke's unable Calum does then Ashton. Worse comes to worse then Kensie steps up."
"Really?..." I trailed off letting my voice turn into nothing and fade off into the air "where do I fall into this?"
"Nic," I nodded understandably, he didn't have to say another word. At the bottom, probably under every follower for their gang and when no one's left. It's me. "No I don't mean it like that. You're not trained baby I-,"
"Baby?" I snapped out my mood leaning forward on to him again smiling wide at his mistake; his slip up.
"I meant Nicky."
"Mmm sure you did, Mikey. Sure you did," I joked connecting our lips together tightly stopping any other words leaving his mouth as he tried to deny what he said.
"Why are we here?" A pair of neon pink ear defenders were slid upon my ears as I looked up at Michael, him having a neon green pair.
"So darling, you can learn to shoot," he nodded his head once to the guy next to the door before he walked over holding a pistol.
"I know how to shoot," I recalled the time I shot Ashtons gang member and caused a fight between them all.
"Properly shoot Nic, plus I wanted to take you on my style of a date." I weren't able to reply as he turned around and took the pistol from the guy my eyes fanning over his form as he lifted the gun up.
Grey oversized jumper hung loosely around his neck revealing his collarbones slightly and a pair of dark black joggers and of course his usual vans on his feet. He looked... good, simple but good. Michael good. Bangs sounded through the air as he did a few tester shots to the mannequin a few metres away from him, all going straight into the right side of his body. He let his arm fall down after tensing it revealing his muscles turning his head to face me, lazy smile on his face.
"Close your mouth Nic," he chuckled walking over and grabbing my right hand lifting it up before placing the heavy cold metal in it, closing my fingers against it to grip it. "Ready?" I snapped my mouth close feeling heat rush to my cheeks before I nodded letting him lead me to the barrier.
His own hands snaked under my hoodie waistline sliding up and around to my stomach as he held me against his front softly swaying, the goosebumps came back full force as he gently scraped his nails against my skin
"Michael stop," I spoke through staggered breaths making him laugh,
"Got to learn to shoot through distractions baby," there's that darn fucking pet name once again. Sending butterflies a blaze in my stomach. Shaking, I lifted my hand up locking my elbow and pushing the trigger sending a small bullet soaring through the air landing straight above Michael's shot. "Well done Nicky, almost as good as me," he breathed hotly against my neck before leaving a trail of little kisses in its wake.
"Better than you." I whispered closing my eyes before letting them flutter open feeling my breathing pick up rapidly before I gulped down harshly shooting another shot landing through his.
"Bingo." I pushed him away from his assault on my neck making him stagger back in shock as I straightened my arm again aiming the gun right at him, "would be so easy," I mocked tilting my head making him laugh shaking his head,
"You wouldn't dare," he stated raising his hand in surrender and mock shock,
"It's so easy isn't it," I looked at the shiny weapon smirking "just one pull, and boom! Dead on the floor,"
"You haven't got the guts Nic," I looked at the outside of the gun, scanning the weight of the weapon in my hand before smirking,
"Don't I?" Within a second I pressed against the trigger aiming the weapon and Michael and hearing the click fill the room. Panic came into Michael's face as he watched me click and fire the gun aiming right at him. His body flinched back before he settled holding a hand over his heart as I smirked letting the gun clatter to the floor as I let go of the weapon.
"You shot me?!" He explained waving his hands around
"Gun was empty Michael. Barely shot you," I took the few steps closer to him placing my hands gently on his shoulders gripping his sweater.
"Did you know?" He whispered placing his hands back on my waist as they found their new home almost instantly.
"That it was empty," I nodded looking down at his lips "yes. I felt the weight difference after I shot the bullet and it was so much lighter. You also shot four bullets, I did the last two. Six bullets in the chamber Michael. Told you I know what I'm doing." I pressed my lips gently against his breathing in his scent, "so next time let the boys know I'm very capable to run the gang if god forbid, you get arrested again."
"Noted Nicky, noted."
