"Earth to Nicky, are you in there?" I lazily tilted my head to the right, nodding once when locking eyes with Luke. I shuffled slightly, making a hand shoot out to hold me still sheepishly looking over my shoulder, meeting Michael's eyes. A shy smile crept onto my lips as I mouthed sorry, moving my hands to pull my hair over my far shoulder, exposing my neck to the male under me. Feeling him gulp harshly, he slid a hand down to my thighs and pinched the skin there between his thumb and pointer finger. He knew what I was doing, and he was doing it back. Thankful for the table stomach-high, his hand slid under my skirt, making me mentally curse at the fact that I decided to wear it after holding it up to Michael and him nodding quickly.
"You're a little shit, you know that right?"
"I have no clue what you're talking about," I looked back at Michael, seeing something twinkle in his eyes as he sorted an amused look on his face before looking back at the desk, scanning the plans.
"You down for that, Nicky?" Calum's worried voice was the next one to hit my ears, spotting the troubled Kiwi in the corner. His arms were securely crossed against his chest, and his legs both stretched out, a disinterested look on his face, which I completely agree with. Unbroken has wanted another meeting with us; apparently, word got out that the police were creeping and sulking around their area; it's believed we've told them where there are because of my known link to Morgan and Alex. As much as it severely creeped me out, they knew that it did send a sense of thankfulness through me that they aren't helping us, can't put them in harm's way.
"Repeat it for me..."
"I knew she wasn't listening, you two are gross." Kensie placed a cold glass of coke in front of me, giving me a knowing look before walking the back of Michael's head as she walked back to Luke, causing a grunt to leave his lips and his hair fly out to the side.
"Nothing was being done!" I laughed, shaking my head as Michael pulled me closer, nuzzling his head into my neck and softly kissing the skin there. "My mind's just elsewhere, you know."
She gave me a small nod before placing herself next to Luke under his awaiting arm, leaning into him. "Someone educated explain it to her again."
"For god sake, Nicky, actually listen." Ashton's voice cut through the air, making my head snap over to him and my body lean forward.
"Brave coming from someone who is hardly here," I snapped back, feeling Michael squeeze my thigh once again, but this time in warning, not in a teasing way. He was telling me not to challenge Ashton as it wouldn't end up right for me.
Ashton let his body relax and fall back, mirroring Calum's stance. Confused, I wondered why he had stood down so easily. My answer came quickly as a cold hand was placed under my chin, pulling it to the side and hitting Michael's firm eyes. My breath caught in my throat before I harshly gulped, his piercing gaze cutting through me. Butterflies went crazy in my stomach as I finally let out a soft breath, it hitting this thumb that was placed softly hovering over my bottom lip. Eyes softened as he nodded once, moving his hand around to the side of my neck and pulling me into a small kiss; that left me wishing for more. Annoyingly, a cough sounded from beside us, making us break apart once again, and looking at Kensie who had a smug look on her face,
"Carry that on later, guys, when you're not in front of an audience. I don't really want to see a strip tease." Luke waved his hand out, blocking a pen that flew through the air and landed just short of her.
"Not cool, dude," he said, shaking his head in annoyance. Although there was a faint smile on his features, his cheek slightly lifted up to the side. It was strange to see them in such deep work mode, unlike the best friends I've grown to know when they weren't busy. The joking almost evaporated, but it was still there if you knew where to look. Michaels' outstretched hand from throwing the pen was linked in mine as I pulled it back to my lap. I found myself lost in looking at his rings.
