"It was so scary Kens," I muttered wiping at my eyes. I had just recalled to her the night before of just finding Michael all bloody hunched over his desk. I had practically dragged Michael out of that office and nearly down the hall to Luke's for him to help before Michael dug his heels in the floor and gently kissed me promising he was ok.

I didn't believe him, the pain was clear in his eyes everytime he grabbed something with his beaten up hands, every time he coughed and a tiny bit of blood spluttered out into a tissue. He didn't want to send me into a panic, that was clear but even then it made me worse.

He was able to sleep right next to me while I stayed up all night just staring at him making sure he stayed breathing as he refused to get help.

"He said it was Sam..." I muttered picking at a single thread on a blanket "he was here again for me..."

"He wouldn't be that stupid Nic," she whispered placing a hand on my knee rubbing the skin there. "Not to come here," she scoffed rolling her eyes at the sheer thought of him putting his face in this block.

"He hurt Michael." I repeated shaking my head "what would have happened to me if he got through Michael?"

Water filled my eyes at all the what ifs? What if Michael weren't here? What if I didn't stay here and I was at my own place? What if I was asleep? Michael had called an emergency meeting with the boys to talk about what happened down at Luke's leaving me to summon Kensie just to get her out their way.

"Nothing would happen Nicky. You're a bad ass who can hold their own shit!" She explained squeezing my knee "you've been through so much the last few days and come out stronger than ever. Sam wouldn't have been able to lay a finger on you." She spoke firmly making sure each word sunk into my brain making me sigh and nod wiping at my eyes.

Baby green eyes stared up at me as I smiled softly looking down, running a hand through the short black fur on his head. Soft purrs left his throat making me smile lifting him up from under his arms letting his paws hang down in front of him.

A new grey bed and cream food bowls were now in their home in the living room and kitchen with a few toys scattered around. Got to spoil my baby.

"Hopefully daddy loves you as much as I do," i muttered bringing the kitten closer to my face and softly kissing its peachy nose "he don't know about this."

It was an impulse buy when I realised I really don't want to be alone in either apartment, mine or Michael's. Mine was loneliness 80 percent of the time when Michael doesn't sleep over and Michael's is 40 percent of the time as he stays in his office. At least in my place he can't go into another room without me knowing as it's, my place. And there was no where else he would, no office to go hide out in.

"He always strikes me as a cat person," I spoke softly placing Pingu down on my lap softly rubbing his head again.

The clock ticked away beside me as the tv played low background noise. Pingu was fast asleep on my lap curled into a small ball hiding the whites of his belly. A bang was heard from outside my door making my head shoot up from its stare on Pingu,

I didn't dare move in fear of the mystery person hearing me and opening my door that I definitely didn't lock. Stupid.

"Don't come in I'll shoot!" I yelled as the door opened only to reveal a confused looking Michael "hi baby," I smiled sheepishly pursing my lips together and softly smiling at him.

"The fuck Nicky? What is that?" He stepped into the room shutting the door behind him making it click almost silently

"Shh, not so loud Michael." I covered Pingus ears even though he was still completely knocked out and comfortable.
