"Did you find out who sent the video...?" I whispered cutting through the comfortable silence me and Michael had feel into watching YouTube. I could tell he weren't fully into it and was just watching it for my sake which did make me happy but I also knew he was bored.
"What?" He whispered back equally as quiet rubbing my shoulder gently before giving it a gentle squeeze
"The CCTV,"
"I did." I looked up at him in shock pushing against his chest so I was sitting up facing him. I ran my hand over his bare chest as he was just in sweats, just looking down at him silently urging him to continue or at least give me some more information causing a small deep chuckle to leave his lips. "Don't look at me like that."
"Like what," I pouted fluttering my lashes softly and slowly scraping my nails against his stomach softly "please Mikey,"
"Baby I don't think," I almost melted at the word baby, almost.
"Michael I can handle it." I snapped shaking my head removing my hand from his skin making his own shoot out and grab my wrist, moving it back so I couldn't leave holding my wrist gently.
"I don't think you can Nicky."
"Michael," I hissed tugging at my wrist. He weren't even grilling tight, barely holding onto me but really I didn't want to back up I was just getting frustrated at the fact I still weren't fully in the group. "Do the others know?" His silence told me everything I needed to know. 'Yes they do' "fucking fantastic Michael, I thought you trusted me, I thought you all did so we didn't have secrets anymore. I thought I was involved."
"Nicky you are." He spoke clearer than I've heard him for a while making me shake my head instantly.
"You would tell me if I was." Finally, it took all my strength but I ripped my hand out his grip and forced myself to stand up refusing to look down at him "I thought we were together."
"We are."
"But we aren't equal." I spat out "bet Luke's told Kensie."
"That's different and you know it." He retaliated rolling his eyes. I watched as his temper grew and he fought to hide it from me but I wanted him to flip out; would make it so much easier to hate him right now.
"How! She's his girlfriend like I'm yours."
"She's in the gang."
"And I'm not!" My heart broke at his words feeling all my emotions hit me at once. Anger, sadness, annoyance, guilt, jealousy! Jealousy over the fact it's easy for Kensie to know what's happening. She's officially with Luke and a member I'm not, I'm just someone who's overstayed a welcome. A stranger to him.
"You are Nicky." He muttered standing up causing me to automatically push his backwards back down to the sofa. I didn't want him towering over me.
"Don't bother Michael."and with that I spun around and left the room thankful we had decided to meet in my apartment for once heading straight to my safe space and shutting the door. Cool wood was against my back as I slid down the back of the door feeling the coolness creeping through my thin chocolate coloured top closing my eyes in frustration. Hands gripped my hair tightly before releasing it not wanting to cause pain to my scalp and mind. My mind... it was running wild as I overthought our small argument.
I couldn't figure out if I had overreacted but Michael didn't fight back just accepted it. It's almost as if he knew I was right... because I am. Constant buzzing was heard from my bed, from the phone that I never moved from its home when I woke up. Never had a need for it when Michael was here, he got my full attention constantly when he's here; even when fighting he doesn't leave my mind.
I knew he was still just sitting in my living room as I hadn't heard the front door slam shut due to him leaving. He was waiting. Probably overthinking like what I am, just rethinking the last twenty minutes. The buzzing seemed to get louder and more frequent driving me up the wall slamming my hand against my door and standing up to turn the machine off, not even noticing who was calling begging for my attention. If I did I probably would have answered.
"Nic?" A few raps sounded on my door as Michael had shifted his position to lurking in the hallway just waiting for me to answer,
"Go away," I muttered not having it in me to just ignore one of my favourite people.
"Nicky please, I'll tell you."
"I don't believe that Michael." I moved back to the door resting my forehead against it hearing Michael shuffle slightly on the other side.
"Please Nicky," a long drawn sigh let his lips causing me to squeeze my eyes shut tightly letting my own out. My hand reached out and gripped the handle twisting it once to unleash it before stepping back so he can swing it open. He looked distraught, as if our mini argument and few moments apart really made him beat himself up over it. "I'll tell you." He repeated stepping forward with his hands out in front of him to grip lightly at my hands this time; not tight touch or grip. "But you can't freak out."
"I don't think anything will make me freak out over it Michael." I nodded not looking away from him as he kept staring me down, eyes flickering from side to side as he kept them on my body. "I want to know..."
"Promise?"
"Michael-,"
"No Nicky I need to know you won't freak out over it."
"I won't." I couldn't guarantee it but I could try not to. It would have a be a pretty rogue person for me to freak out over who saved my boyfriend from prison. A deep breath was took as he linked our hands together slotting his fingers between mine and making sure I was looking at him.
"It was Alex."
