Change of Plans"This wasn't supposed to happen ..." Klaus ranted, pacing the floor in the living room. He'd called Kol, Rebekah and Elijah in to hear him nag and so far ... it wasn't going well.
Rebekah leaned up against the wall next to the fireplace, staring at her phone as her brother walked back and forth along the carpeted floor. Kol sat in a chair, ignoring Klaus and just looking aimlessly around the room seeming idle. And Elijah, being the noble brother he is, sat on the couch in pure focus, his eyes being locked to his obnoxious brothers'.
"What are you talking about, Niklaus?" Rebekah asked, her eyes not straying from her phone screen; her voice was painted with annoyance.
He stopped pacing.
"Why, haven't you heard? Elena and Echo got into an argument when she went to return the bag at the boarding house. Now Elena won't care if I keep her as long as I want. So maybe I'd have to kill her." He replied like she should've known already.
"Well, hold on, don't jump to conclusions yet ..." Elijah started.
Kol interrupted him.
"Yeah, who said you had to kill her? I mean, I could kill her for you, no problem."
"That wasn't the point, Kol." Elijah argued, narrowing his eyebrows.
Klaus shook his head.
"That means I need to find a different way to get Elena. I mean, she's all I really need at this point to become a hybrid. Maybe we could kill her tomorrow ..."
Just then, a shatter sounded from the doorway entrance of the living room. The four siblings looked over and saw her ... Echo. Shards of a glass plate where she had her lunch that afternoon were scattered all over the hard wood floor where she had dropped it. Her heart dropped to her stomach when she heard the sentence Klaus just uttered.
"You're going to kill me?" She questioned softly, trying to hold back the overflow of tears that were reaching her eyes.
There was a silence that wisped through the room for what seemed like forever. Seeing that no one answered, Echo thought it must've been true. She clenched her eyes shut as they burned with infinite tears.
"Echo ..." Klaus started, but Elijah silenced him, seeing she was just gonna snap if he tried to resolve something that only needed time to heal.
She just sighed, slowly opening her eyes. "Ok." was all she said before she raced back to her room, slamming her door shut. She plopped face-first on her bed, unable to keep the tears from sliding down her cheeks any longer.
How could they want to kill her? She hasn't done anything wrong ... at least she thought she hadn't. Plus, she still had no idea why she was there in the first place, which she wanted to know immediately.
Suddenly, there was a knock on her door.
"Go away!" She moaned, not even looking to the door.
"It's me, Echo."
Kol.
She looked up this time.
"Well, why are you here?"
He knocked again. "If you let me in, I'll tell you."
She sighed heavily and thought about it for a moment. Letting Kol inside her room would be a tricky situation. He did drink from her, but then again, afterwards, he showed no interest at all. What could he possibly do? With that logic, she wiped the tears from her eyes to seem like wasn't just crying before she sulked out of bed and slithered to the door, turning the knob and opening it to see him. Kol, a smirk plastered on his face. Seeing he could enter, he followed Echo to the bed as he shut the door behind them. With both of them sitting, Echo started.
