We're Gonna Let It Burn"Did you hear that?" Elena asked, pausing everything she was doing.
"Hear what?" Damon questioned, chucking another flaming match to the house, hitting directly in the chimney.
"Damon, you're a one-hundred year old vampire with super-hearing. You know you heard something."
She stole the box of matches from his grasp and threw them to the patch of grass they were standing on. Damon threw his hands in the air in surrender.
"Ok, ok. I heard like ... a scream. Coming from inside the house." He admitted.
She cocked her hip to the side and placed her hand on it casually, her hair flowing angelically over her shoulder. It reminded him of Echo.
"Well, didn't it sound familiar? Like ... Echo's scream?" The funny thing was, Elena didn't seem fazed by it at all. She said it like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Damon narrowed his eyebrows. He didn't believe it. Echo was at her apartment. Not in the Mikaelson mansion. If so, she would've told somebody---no, she wouldn't have. She wouldn't have told anyone where she was going if it was to the Mikaelson mansion. If that were the case---nah, she's not in there. She can't be.
Damon shook his head as he bent down to pick up another match.
"Nah, it's not her. She's at her apartment, remember? She wouldn't have come here. I mean, what would the reason be?" He spat as he lit the wooden stick quickly and hurled it to the mansion again, causing the whole front part of the roof to tumble down through the house.
That's when Elena started to rethink what she was doing. She was burning down The Original's house---mansion. She did it out of rage; Klaus found out Damon kissed Echo and Damon of course thinks it's nothing. And if they got caught ...
That did it.
"Damon, we should get out of here." Elena ordered, grabbing her jacket from the prickly green blades of the grass.
He just grunted. At that moment, he had a feeling he was having more fun than she was, seemingly because he actually wanted Klaus dead ... but she was also the one who came up with the idea.
"Fine," He growled, "But could I have one more throw?"
"No!" She hissed, putting her arms through the sleeves of her coat, "If we get caught ..."
Her sentence was paused when she turned around and came face to face with the one and only notorious Klaus. His eyebrows were furrowed and his jaw was tight. He did not look happy.
"Are you two responsible for this?" He questioned in anger, pointing to the burning house that was melting before them.
"No!" Damon yelled as he pitched another flaming match to the towering house.
Elena clenched her eyes shut in annoyance as she sighed heavily. He got ready to say something, something that involved violence that would result after it when he stopped himself. It's like everyone was completely forgotten. He looked around the area, staring at the falling wood that tumbled down the vanilla cream colored house.
"You left Echo in there?" He said with irritation whipped in his tone, very calm and collectively.
"What?!" They both exclaimed, Damon racing over to their sides with his vampire-speed.

The house was coming down. Echo could hear the wood and shackles spilling through the roofs and collapsing to the living room, the fire making its way upstairs.
"Maybe I should take a peek, just to see how long I have until it gets up to this room." She thought.
As soon as she stood from her cushy bed and reached for the door, her hand just millimeters away from turning the knob, she backed away quickly, like she had just been shocked.
"Don't open the door! At least with the door closed, the fire would have some work to do before it got to you!" She scolded herself.
She raked her fingers through her long, brown hair with lighter natural highlights. Then, out of frustration she messed it up, making it fluffy and tangled. This wasn't how she was supposed to die. Not being burned to death. That was a worst case scenario because it was a slow painful death ... and it was hot.
Might as well try something that would fail to work ...
"Help! Help! Somebody!" She called, her hands cupped around the rim of her mouth.
No answer.
Well, it was worth a try. She crouched down, her arms wrapped around her knees, them going up to the bottom of her nose. She clenched her eyes shut, a tear sliding gently down her cheek. She wasn't crying because she was stuck in a burning house getting ready to die, (she'd been in "near-death" situations before) she was crying because she would never hear Klaus' voice ever ... ever again ...
"Echo, love!" A familiar voice screamed from what seemed to be inside the house.
She shot up from her position and a wave of relief shot through her body.
"Klaus ..." She mumbled in reassurance.
She raced to the door to open it screaming, "Klaus! Klaus! I---"
Her sentence paused when she saw it ... flames. Right at the door. Like they were waiting for her to come out. She screamed again, slamming the door shut, closing out the juicy fire spitting out sparks. She sighed, a very trembly and shaky one. She softly closed her eyes and slammed her back against the door, sliding down it slowly, trying to redeem her cool.
