So, real quick in case those of you didn't get the notification, we have updated the prologue, and if you haven't already we'd apricate it if you checked it out.

And secondly before we get into the chapter, I have a very important question to you all that may or may not affect this story.

Would you rather punt a baby or put down a golden retriever in front of N?

A loud ringing pierced the male's ears, sounding like something was banging straight into his skull. Opening his eyes, he immediately closed them not even a second later, groaning at the bright light. Struggling as one of his arms was moved over to cover his eyes, opening his eyes only an inch or so as he sat up, trying to adjust to the light. However he must have moved too fast, his mind shutting off for a minute, having to quickly place an arm on either side, feeling like he was about to hurl., 'Oh god.' He groaned, hunching over, placing a hand on his forehead, letting out a shaky breath. "Morning sunshine." V cooed, legs crossed as she sat on one of the chairs, watching with amusement. Back in her crop top, her ruby-colored dress was now put on a hanger, hooked on a broken panel. "Ughh S-...Stop yelling." He stammered, holding a hand up in the general direction he heard her from.

"Alright, whatever ya say." She dismissed him, leaning back in her chair. Taking a few minutes to regain himself, he looked around realizing he was in the pod now, still in the white and red suit, J sitting at the central console, but not typing. Instead she seemed to be looking through something. "Ugh, hey J, the heck happened last night? I feel like my head's been split in two... And my mouth is so dry. Where's my water?" He sleepily groaned, looking around the area, spotting the metal bottle a few feet away. However, he also didn't get an answer, which he found confusing. "J? You hear me?" Y/n questioned, J sitting up slightly, the silent typing coming from her computer. "J?" Still no response, Y/n wasn't sure what was up by now. Could she be distracted, if so by what?

Curious, he stood up, nearly falling back but quickly caught himself, shooting a quick glare at V after hearing her chuckle under her breath. Leaning against the console, he looked over the screen and saw a JCgoogle search of 'How to have fun after being fired from JCJenson?' The results didn't seem the most helpful. One saying {Reflect on what made you such a failure, and cry from there until you realize how pitiful your life truly is.} "I think the best answer is just to do whatever you wanna do." Y/n spoke aloud, the scrolling on screen stopping momentarily, J taking a deep, heavy breath before shakily exhaling, clenching the mouse in her right hand before continuing her scroll. "So you ca-" "Shut the hell up." She interrupted in a light growl, the mouse nearly broken in her palm. "Wh-" "I said shut up." She reiterated, this time much more firm. "Wha-... Okay?" Even more confused than moments ago, he stepped away, glancing at V for some help, who simply shrugged.

"Well I'll just... Leave then." Wordlessly he stood up, sparing a few glances to J before taking the ladder out, the pod falling into a silence. V glanced at J, noticing her continuing to type on the computer, looking for basic answers to how to actually have a life. Tapping her fingers on the arm of the chair for a moment, she didn't waste a second before practically shoving herself out of the seat, jumping out of the pod, wings spread free, dashing out one of the many openings built into the spire. The air felt nice, snow pelting against the soft titanium-plastic shelling she called skin, wings folding back in as she dove into a busted building, transferring to a leisurely stroll through the abandoned office space, dragging her hand across the cubicle tops, scooping up the snow and squeezing it into a firm ball, turning on her heel and chucking it one of the skeletons, only for the ball to miss, splattering against the wall completely.
