J limped throughout the hall, body crying out with the whine of servos working overtime, stumbling into any and every turn she could encounter, holding herself against it, using these minuscule seconds to catch her breath, gaining the strength to continue. Feet constantly slipping from underneath, losing balance in every step, hugging the wall as she navigated through the maze of the bunker. Khan's voice managed to break through the buzzing static filling her mind, and she looked down the hall to see him and some worker. Khan gave the worker a small wave goodbye as he started putting away his supplies.

With a pained grunt, J pushed herself off the wall, stumbling her way down the hall. Hearing the faint thumps of steps, Khan looked up with a curious hum, eyes widening at the sight before him. J's arms held out to hold herself against the wall, legs shaking violently with each step, one of her twin tails undone, and dozens of bullet holes riddled through her clothes. Nearly all of her skin was stained with oil. "J?!" Quickly, Khan ran forward as J's legs gave out, slamming against the floor with a harsh thud. Struggling even to push herself onto her side, Khan needed to help lay her against the wall. "J, what the heck happened? What did this?" He questioned in a panic, looking over her body for any wounds, stunned that a murder drone could get hurt, let alone get this damaged. 'I-I'm, I'm fine...' J coughed out, voice strained. "J, you are not fine. We need to-" "Forget about me!" J cried out, sloppily shoving away his hands as she tried to sit up. "They are not safe. It's after them. It wants to kill them!" Panic etched J's voice, form shaking. "J, the doors will keep them out. It's kept you guys out. It's safe." He tried to assure J, gently placing a hand on her shoulder, the drone shaking her head. "No, no, no, you don't get it! We can't risk it. I just can't. I'm not losing them again!" Tears had begun to form, her head dropping down to hide her face, silently sniffling and mumbling over and over, 'Not again. Unresponsive to any of Khan's words.

All he could do was sit there, saying whatever he could think to comfort her as she seemed to only further spiral until eventually her whole form went limp, no longer muttering her worries. Carefully, Khan shook her shoulder, whispering her name, only for nothing. Glancing at her screen, he saw the sign {Sleep Mode} branded over her screen. With a sigh, he repositioned himself by her side, gently cupping his arms beneath her knees and back, lifting her with ease and walking J to her home, occasionally glancing down at her, worry etched across his face. Thinking back to her words. Mind wondering she was talking about what she ran across, and many, many more questions.

With a bit of struggle, he managed to open the front door and stepped inside to find N asleep on the couch. Not questioning it further, he entered J's room, noting how oddly clean it was. Not a single speck of dirt in any of the rugs, nor a crease in the fabrics. Furniture also looks better than it does in promotional pics. Carefully placing her down inside the bed, covering her with the blanket. Even then, he didn't instantly leave, caught in his own thoughts. "They'll be safe... I promise you." He whispered, giving one last pat before turning to leave, then halted as his arm was gently pulled back. He looked around, confused, only to find the culprit rather quickly. J's tail gently wraps itself around his wrist, almost as if trying to pull it back. Shaking his head with a light chuckle, he carefully unwound the tail, unsure if it would hurt when moved, but didn't risk his chances. "Sleep well, J." He hummed one last time before leaving the room, noticing N waking up from the couch, rubbing his eyes. "Khan? What are you doing here?" He sleepily muttered with a loud yawn, stretching out his arms and popping out his back, getting to his feet. "I was dropping off J. Something attacked her, and she seemed fine. I didn't see any damage except her clothes were stained with oil, but she was really shaken up... I'm worried for her." Glancing back to the bedroom, N was confused by the statement. "Attacked? What happened?" He woefully questioned, Khan unable to answer like he wished he could. "I'm sorry, kid, I don't know. I know about as much as you." He mumbled, looking slightly uneasy. "Hey, uh, can you watch over her, please? I need to check on some things." Without any hesitation, N nodded his head. "I got her. I'll let you know if anything happens. Promise." N was already off getting the supplies he believed could help J Khan hesitated for a second before leaving himself, giving one last glance back.
