"That is amazing honey!" My mom says. She wasn't able to go to graduation because of work, so I decided to visit her up there. "I am so proud of you!"

"Thank you. I'm really excited to see how this turns out." I smile.

"How are you doing, sweetie? Is everything okay?" Her maternal instincts kick in.

"I'm okay, Mom. Dr. Wilson has done a lot to help me and I am getting better everyday."

"That's great to hear. How are you and Kai?"

"Eh. We are friends right now. I think he has moved on already. If he is happy, then I'm happy." I explain to my mother.

"Now Araceli! You don't seriously believe that boy has just up and left you, now have you?" She says with her Texan roots coming in.

"Mom, if you have seen him or heard him, you would think the same thing. You know how he acts, he is the biggest flirt."

"I have never seen him act that way toward anyone but you, hun. Why don't you just talk to him?"
"You and I both know that I am never going to do that. I don't just open up to everyone, especially when I don't know how he feels anymore."

"You are overreacting." She says flatly, but swallows down something and begins to talk again. " Have you talked to your father since he has been back?"

"Yes." I say shortly. "But it was not pleasant."

"For who?"

"Both." I say. "Anyway, I have been invited to a party so I have to go get ready. I'll talk to you later. I love you."

"I love you, too, sweetie. Have fun, but stay safe!" She yells as i get into the elevator. As soon as I get home, I go through my closet to find something to wear, but realize I still do not know how to dress for a party.

"Kai!" I yell.

"What?" He yells back.

"Come here!" He walks into my room, where it looks like someone has ransacked with all my cloths on the floor. "What should I wear if I am going to go to a party?"

"What kind of party?"

"I don't know! A party-party with people?" I explain. "Look, I don't want to be the weird girl there. I just want to be me." He sits and thinks for a minute, then grabs something from the pile.

"Put this on."

"Are you sure? This won't make me look nerdy?" I say examining it.

"This is you, Araceli. You shouldn't worry about what those people think anyway. Now go put it on and let me see it." I go to the bathroom and try on a Harley Quinn inspired dress I picked out forever ago but never actually wore out in public. I completely forgot that I had it until now.

"I don't know about this." I say.

"If you don't come out I'm coming in." He yells back from the other side of the door.

"Okay! I'm coming out now." I say taking a deep breath, trying to gain courage with it. "How does it look?" I say without looking up, still analyzing the dress on me. The next thing I know, I feel a fire ignite in my stomach and Kai's lips on mine. The kiss was very rough and completely passion driven, but it is ended abruptly when Kai pulls away breathing heavily.

"Araceli, I'm so sorry. I promised myself and to you that I wasn't going to do anything to ruin your recovery. God, I'm so stupid! For all I know you have a boy-" I cut him off by kissing him just as hard as he did. I feel him smile against my lips and kiss me back. Kai picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist. I have never felt so happy before in my life.
