The Blind Brawler [ Roronoa Zoro X OC]

Author's Note (Updated July 13, 2025)

Hello, readers! 

I know most of you who read my story might not see a post I make on my profile, so I wanted to put this message out there where everyone was most likely to see it.

(((First, if you made it to this author's note, I just want to give a huge thank you for reading my story! I don't regularly post author's notes at the end of chapters for two reasons. One, it's a personal worry that I might break the flow of someone binge reading my story if I drop an "AN" at the end of each chapter. And two, I'm just not always sure what to say. 😅 Just know that every time I see a vote or a comment pop up in my notifications, it brings me a lot of joy and I wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate that. 

Second, I wanted to apologise for the delay to anyone curious or concerned about why I haven't made any recent chapter art. My fellow writer/artist Hallowmonsterco and I usually draw together, but life started to get in the way. We both still make the time to write, but the chapter art has kinda fallen on the wayside. The fact is, while I enjoy drawing, I haven't recently had the energy for it that I once did because, as of posting this AN (March 2025), I am pregnant! I'm super excited but also super tired, so the chapter art may take a while to return. 

Third, please do not think this AN is the end of the story! I am still writing and have a handful of chapters in the backlog that I will continue to post. I will be making sure that this AN post stays at the end of my table of contents because, again, I don't want to break up the flow of anyone reading my story, but this is far from the end of Kaori's story. 

Please check out my friend Hallowmonsterco as well for her AceXOC story. Her OC is an amazing, sassy, and confident character with a really fun devilfruit ability that is always developing.

Hello, readers!!!

This has been an incredibly busy week for me with doctor visits and family coming in from out of state. As of posting this, I am 32 weeks pregnant, so my energy levels and attention have been all over the place.

I am still writing, but I just no longer have a backlog of chapters to help keep up with my current posting schedule. I don't plan to change my schedule yet, but there may be the occassional delayed chapter like the one from this week.

I may take a brief hiatus at the end of Skypiea or when my baby is born, whichever comes first. If I do take a hiatus, I will update this Author's Note with the date I plan to return so you guys aren't left waiting in the void. Even if I'm not posting chapters, I'll try to still respond to comments or messages, so I'm not ghosting the website. 

In the meantime, I want to thank you all again for following my story up to this point! Special shout out to crossroadsoul for doing the most insane thing I could have imagined and taking inspiration from my story to start her own fic, Silk and Steel! I highly recommend it. If you disliked my original villain, Isamu, you will despise her villain, in the best way possible. Best way I could compare them is if Isamu is Crocodile, then Danton is Doflamingo. And her story is not a rewrite of mine; she has an original backstory and characters and a great writing style.
