Leaving Sky Island had to be the most relaxed and relieved I had felt in nearly a week. We reached the ship without being caught by the Shandorians or Skypieans. I helped Kaori board the ship before I went to raise the anchor. The others scrambled to their posts, everyone excited and eager to get going.
Sailing the White White Sea was a breeze. Conis led the way on a smaller dial-powered boat, blaring a victory horn the whole time. The weather was in our favour as the Going Merry cut through the sea clouds with ease.
Before long, Skypiea was out of sight, nothing more than another crazy adventure that we barely managed to survive. A smirk curled my lips as I glanced back at the rest of the crew as they excitedly scoured the stolen haul of golden goods, "This was definitely one of the most risky ventures we've tackled, but the payout for it is pretty nice," I reached into my pocket to check once again for the bit of Sea Prism Stone I managed to steal and felt even more accomplished.
Conis shouted out to us, grabbing everyone's attention, "Okay! We're almost there! Everyone! See that up ahead? That's Cloud End!"
Luffy, Chopper, and Usopp all raced to the bow of the ship to get a better look. I simply followed their gaze to the huge gate structure just up ahead. The archway had a red roof and was decorated with golden accents. There were two large skyfish statues, spilling sea cloud from their open mouths like a fountain. The display created the illusion of a permanent rainbow over the entire structure.
Luffy hummed curiously, "Huh. So that's where we go back down from?"
Usopp spoke up in surprise, "We got here sooner than I thought."
The rubber man suddenly deflated and lay flat on top of the Going Merry's head, "Aww. We really have to go back already?"
Sanji sighed, seeming a bit amused, "You know, it sounds crazy, but I'm actually gonna miss this place."
Kaori huffed and crossed he arms as a smirk curled her lips, "You're right. You do sound crazy."
I chuckled and nodded in agreement as I sat on the railing of the ship, "I think it's time we said goodbye to the White Sea."
Chopper hooked his arms over the rail and kicked his legs as he looked out at the sea clouds, "Sky island sure is fun. But scary, too."
Usopp seemed curious as he studied the gate ahead, "We just go through that gate, and there'll be a Milky Road that'll take us to the Blue Sea, huh?"
Nami hummed softly, "Wonder if we'll ever visit this place again."
"Well, you never know," Usopp shrugged.
As we got closer to the gate, Conis pulled her small boat up alongside the gateway. She leapt out onto a platform made of island cloud and ran beside us, waving as she called out, "I'm sorry, but this is as far as I can go! Goodbye, my friends! Take care of yourselves!"
Nami shouted back to her, "We will! Thanks for the escort!"
Sanji yelled as he waved both his arms above his head, "Conis! Don't forget me, angel!"
Usopp chimed in, "Say goodbye to the others for us!"
"See ya!" Chopper chirped.
Luffy seemed unusually solemn with his goodbye, "It was nice meeting you. Thanks for everything!"
Conis looked back at him, seeming on the verge of tears, "No! You've got it wrong! I'm the one who should be thanking you! I'll never forget you! Thanks to you all!"
"Goodbye, Conis! Take care now!" My captain called back to her as we reached the entrance of the gateway.
Conis waved again, "Bye! Now take in your sails, and hold on tight! You're in for a bumpy ride!"
